Here's a little more video of McC in the hot seat for you RML...   Oh wait...  That was all his fault to begin with...

ROFLMAO @ Celeste.

How true.

Anyway: here's my two cents:

Obama is not McCain.

Ergo, I don't give a shit what he's done, thought, planned or dreamed of.

He's not McCain; so I will vote for him.

You mean he was in a war somewhere?????????????

This is exactly what I mentioned in a thread the other day.  His supporters and his campaign staff have gone from using his war record as an example of achievement to a shield to blunt any and all criticism.

His meltdown over being confronted on a simple campaign issue is far more pertinent than someone's wife telling a cutesy story about getting nervous after a new-born baby.

Go back and look at that video of his answer, then talk to me about someone who is tentative, nervous, and hesistant.

Not real inspiring, is it?

Oh I watched the video, RML.  Looks like a politician caught between a rock and a hard place.  Loved the little audio of what sounded like the studio staff whooping and laughing in the background too.  Funny how easily they betray their bias.

As for using his war record as a shield, nonsense.  We are talking about the ability to act in a crisis, and the Forrestal video shows McCain doing precisely that.

Nonsense?  You're doing that right now.  How does what happened on the Forrestal 40 years ago rebut his stuttering and stammering his way through a simple campaign question?

What was the Forrestal video supposed to show me?  That he had the luck to survive, or do you believe that it wasn't luck, that the 134 who died just didn't have his "ability to act in a crisis"?

You go right ahead and run with that, RML.  Mocking the dead is always a great tactic...

This kind of reminds me of John Kerry's haircut in 04.

Why do Americans or is it Republicans keep going on about crisises? Is this a scare tactic of Strausian nature? Keep the people in fear so they conform. What nation is going to imminently attack the US? Or are we talking about Venezuala here and their secret plan to force a beach head in Florida? Surely what America needs is someone with skills to manage the economy (McCains's weak spot by his own addmission) and diplomatic skills to regain the confidence of the US's allies.

Mocking them?

No, actually I'm questioning why you are suggesting that McCain did something special or heroic in the Forrestal incident when all he did was manage to survive.
