This forum was once the haven of the wit...

I for one miss the fact that Eddie Izzard never comes here anymore, or Rowan Atkinson or that bloke who used to be half funny but now thinks he is a serious actor in that US medical drama 'House'.

God, I love Eddie :)  And 'that bloke' is called Hugh Laurie :)

Hugh laurie had a bit part in the remake of "Man in the Iron Mask" with Leonardo and Malkovich and Depardieau and Byrnne. Good film. Amazing sets and costumes.

The difference between an in-law and an outlaw?

Outlaws are always wanted.

Umm... but it's ok when one of your multiple personalities decides to fill pages 1-3 with whatever crap sails through your cranium at any given moment? Okies, go with that.

BTW, since we're all fake or figments of each others' imagination, I guess I just blew $300 fake dollars on a fake hotel room for Steel's pretend birthday party in Vegas, lol.

-sets a plate of glazed donuts out-
Didja get any of them ones with the lemon filling? How come they don't make key lime donuts? or donuts with M&Ms? Why is the hole in the donut never big enough? Why are the donut holes one buys round and not cylindrical-shaped? (think about it) How long do I have to swim to work off 3 donuts? Do people in Tibet eat donuts? Do donuts float? Can I pay my taxes in donuts? What wine goes with donuts? Why isn't there donut ice cream? Why aren't there donut machines? Why are tires shaped like donuts? Why don't donuts come in different sizes like coffee? Why is it when some gun freak goes postal nobody ever wonders if he was on coffee and donuts? Why is it whenever coprporate execs meet to fuck over the consumer or environment, they always start the meetings with coffee and donuts? Why do Mexicans celebrate Dia de Los Muertos with skull-shaped donuts? Why is Kekule's benzine ring shaped like a donut? Why is Earth's magnetic field shaped like a donut?

This is important stuff, man. <takes another hit and blows a donut-shaped ring>

I don't think I've met any of you who habituate this forum.

I don't love you, or hate you, or want to celebrate your birthday.

I don't give a shit if you want me.

I am tired of these self-congratulatory threads.

This forum was once the haven of the wit...now it is the haven of the high school popularity contest -- in cyber space, no less.

Doesn't any of you have anything funny to say?

candystripper  [sm=pole.gif]

i don't expect my birthday to be remembered or missed by anyone if and when i leave this place (please - they'll be turning cartwheels here)

sirsholly -> RE: I Don't Think I've Met Any of You (9/8/2008 4:38:10 AM)

Obviously, other people CAN post here........... it wasnt all that long ago that YOU had most of the threads on several forums.. so it's ok for YOU to crowd the forums... but as soon as you realize that most of us find you pathetic (at best) suddenly your panties are in a wad??

*yawn*

Eddie Izzard absolutely cracks me up...love his style...so different the way he delivers his wit and comedy..
I can only find him on BBC here in the US and so don't get to enjoy him as often as I'd like to....

and  House  is one of my fav tv shows...
  what a hoot he is.

I guess LROD is a bit hard to get if you didn't follow all his postings.

Maybe I shouldv'e chosen a different example.

But anyway, my complaint is these 'group hug' type threads crowd out all of page one and most of page two; IMO, the forum shouldn't be the exclusive property of some clique who gets off on congratulating itself.

There should be a limit to this sort of thing, to permit others to use 'Random Stupidity' when the urge takes them.

Don't you guys get how  -- yawn -- boring all this is to someone who doesn't know you and doesn't care?

But I give up; it's yours; I'll find somewhere else to steal a smoke than behind the gym.

No worries.  Carry on.

For all I know -- or truly care -- all of you live in a big commune in AZ.  I don't doubt that you have real life connections; I just wonder why you feel the need to make them so public and take over this forum?

But as I said -- no worries -- carry  on.
