No, I don't know, and I'm OK with that.

I have all these ideas in my head of what I'd want a partner to be like, and what I need.  The truth is, though, that the last partner I had was nothing like my accumulated list.  He was an amazing, grounded person.  Finding my love is not a matter of knowing, but of ... perceiving, recognizing.

The question is ambiguous.

I believe that on a planet where the population is approaching 7 billion,   http://www.netlingo.com/more/poptick.html  statistically each person has lots of people we could be a great match with, as long as we're nice people. The jerks, not so many...

Also I don't believe in god, or destiny, or that things are preordained in any way.

So I don't believe in "The One".

But taken another way, I can answer the question with a resounding "YES!"
  I have found the one I want, and he is the one I need. He is majestic and beautiful in his deep submission to me.

But as I mention at the beginning of this post, there doesn't have to be just one.

After enough experiences with the wrong ones, I had the smarts not to let the right one get away. After nearly 16 years together, both vanilla and now 24/7 BDSM as my slave, I am still finding new levels of depth to the relationship. Don’t think it’s that easy, it’s not. Every relationship has ups and downs but YES, knowing who and what you want and taking charge to get him/her is fantastic. BTW, knowing what you want in life is very liberating.

My Domme side has a pretty good picture of the sub I want ... not so much the physical but the character traits and attitudes and heart and mind. I don't believe in "the One" ... bit of a needle in a haystack notion with the current world population (what if he lives in Mongolia?? I'll never find him!) ... but I do believe there are lots of potentials out there. Whether I can get them to visit Me in country Australia is the real question!

It really was about if you knew the person who you think would make a good match for you.  Sorry if I confused anybody with it sounding more like a "The One" kind of thing.

It seems more often than not we are talking about the ones we've found more than the ones we're looking at.  I thought it was a good all around question, whether folks were already in a dynamic or just had their eye on someone.
