I would not recommend trying to quit smoking while trying to lose weight. While they are not mutually exclusive, for most people the only way to achieve both is to be sentenced to hard labor in a prison camp. I have my ideas and they paralell none of the mainstream ideas but are somewhat like the Atkins approach. First of all skipping food for a day is not starvation, it is what you do after that day that counts. People will do that and then gorge themselves the next day. That is extremely counterproductive. If you can't fight hunger well enough to avoid doing that, skipping a day is probably not the best method for you. A good thing is to cut down carbs, and if you can, sugar. Carbs are necessary in certain amounts, but I firmly believe that what the establishment says is wrong. Unless you are extremely physically active, you need less carbs than they say. You need some to keep everything flowing smoothly, but most people overdo carbs by near orders of magnitude. I my view, for example, a meal with a piece of meat, veggies, even like broccoli dripping with cheese and perhaps one small potato (smaller than the peice of meat) is healthier than the same piece of meat with a huge portion of mashed potatoes. I am off to work soon, but I have more. Cangrats on losing the weight. I know myself how much harder it is to take it off than to put it on. Let me put this to you, the mainstream medical community has a recommended diet. Each country has their own. In this country we have among the highest incidence of obesity, the highest medical costs and the highest rates of certain diseases which actually can be cured. This is proven fact and I will dig up some proof. Off to work. T
