ORIGINAL: TwistedLady Hey, This is for all you ladies and gentlemen who are currently striving to live an all around healthier lifestyle. Working on losing those last few pounds? Wonderful, post your goals and updates here. Trying to quit smoking or whatever it may be that you need to give up? Lovely, bring it all here. As for me: Start weight on July 13, 2008 - 290 pounds Current weight as of my Friday weigh-in today - 271 pounds. Smoking - Well, I've tried quitting once before and it didn't turn out very well. However, they say that with things like losing weight and quitting addictions, it can take quite a few tries before you actually stick with it. So, here's to an attempt (along with determination) within the next couple of days. Note, this is all about health. Please don't encourage starvation, fad diets, quick fixes that don't last, etc. I gave a great deal of consideration to this question back in 1998, and after very careful thought....it occurred to me that without my entire lack of care for my health or future, insurance companies would have no ability to generate income. Then Doctors. Follow on was obviously lawyers. If I smoked but claimed later to not understand, who would be there for me? Lawyers. Today, thanks to me (and I'm sure, several other selfless folks like myself), several classifications of legal, medical and like groups....have a job. (It's my way of giving back).
