Busy busy time for me. Apples loading down the trees, frantic picking, sauce making canning and freezing.

Also, trying to get everything ready for the winter season. Heating fuel stocked up, hay piled in the shed. Scheduling vehicles for checkups and maintenance. All the fun and expensive stuff.

Work has been insanely busy lately, having to make myself do some OT.

The male of the farm hit a deer with my truck. So much for a pristine 1996 Dodge Ram 4wheel drive extended cab. Thank god for insurance, and even more so that it is still drivable.

Getting ready for the big family invasion that starts this next weekend and will culminate with a mega-cookout on the 27th. Last count was around 70-80 people. 8-15 of them will be staying at the farm for most of the week. Lots of pig to roast. I am just glad I had the foresight to ask people to bring a side dish and their own beverages.

After I recover from that, I will begin to focus on the excitment of having my girl come here the end of October. For the first time I have a really good feeling about someone working out. I think her temperment is going to work well with the dynamic of the farm. It is a quiet secluded place for the most part. Not everyone prefers that type of lifestyle. Many would be bored to tears. She loves it.

Another girl is visiting in November. I am not so confident about her in a longterm type situation. She's been a bit flaky already. However, I did promise to give her a fair opportunity to prove herself. Time will tell.

For all I know the first will flake out and the second will fit perfectly!

Same here.  Plus getting everything i can out of both gardens (Hers and mine).  Have to shave the food bill as much as i can with the economy in the toliet. Trying out new recipes since i have so many apples and pears this year

With fall quickly approaching and sensing an *early* winter, barns to get cleaned out, freezables stored in the basement, truly never a dull moment living in the country.

Smiling because even with the crazy schedule She keeps, we still manage to find time for "us" and to enjoy the company of friends.  If i can squeeze in a trip to Wicked at the end of the month... September will get two thumbs up from me!!

Ok, so it's been an interesting month so far... I celebrated my birthday (a friend of mine dubbed it the "silver anniversary of your 21st, birthday" *grins*), so did my stepdaughter. Everything was relatively quiet until all heck broke loose this weekend, and Hurricane Ike rumbled -literally- right over our heads here just East of I-45 in midtown Houston.

We'll be cleaning up the mss for more than a little while.

It will certainly keep us busy.

What a wonderful idea!  I don't believe I remember a roll call when I was last active.  August and September have been incredibly busy for me.  I am a full time student, and work full time, so spare time is not something I have a lot of.  Having been without a 24/7 boy for a little while now, and  receiving email from some very impressive candidates, I am making time to revisit the board to read some of the posts.  What a wonderful spot to catch up with old friends, and become acquainted with new ones.  Hello everyone!

FR~
Ok, wow. This month is almost over and I have spent most of it with my Geoff. Unbelievibly he actually introduced me to his parents. I dont know of many 21 year olds who would have the courage to bring a 50 year old woman to meet his parents. They took things in stride, didnt chase me from the house with a broom lol atually sat out on the deck and had dinner. His father esxperessed his concerns over the age difference but for the most part they accepted me because they love their son and will be happy so long as he is happy. Which is way groovy.  We are sitting in Nashville right now at my sisters. She has accepted Geoff just as I knew she would. Of course she knows about me and wiitid, we just dont discuss it .
Geoff is everything bit the rock star that he admits to lol plays the guitar, and sings like an angel. I dont want to leave, but I know that I have to and theyrell be another time.

In other areas, I did not make the september class for guide school, but will try for october. Mabye Ill be living down here this way <S>. Im glad to hear everyone is doing well, and happy, for I am extremely happy.

hugs
MoGa

MoGa so happy to hear that things are going well for you and Geoff and it seems like your spirits are a bit better. Wishing I could get you here so that I could spoil the hell out of you. You have got to get your guide dog soon, I know that it will make things easier for you.

So updating on Me. We (Bp and I) are still looking for a 3rd to include permanently in our home. While my masochistic side gets play, the Domina in me tends to get exercised so rarely that my teeth itch with the hunger. When I am able to find someone to play with it is hard to move as slowly as they need at times. Sigh... Gets a bit lonely here with BP on the road so much..having a sub to talk to and tornmetn would be wonderful.

The house now has Impact resistent Low E windows and to be honest with the rising costs of everything we are really contemplating taking out a loan and installing a Solar Energy System. We are using less electricity especially with the new windows and seeing jumps of 11 percent in cost. GRRRRRR. Sometimes it seems like there is no way to make headway.  I am headed back to school for a bit (getting in was a mess) and hopfully will have my home business ready to fire up just in time for the recession to turn into a depression. Sigh...

September has been a load of fun with the joys of Himself being on the road and home only on weekends. The dogs are fine, the cat thinks I rock and I am back to daily exercise at the Y...BLEH.

We've been mostly busy with work and doggy issues.  rob has been working 2 jobs lately, and I've been working overtime due to people being on vacation and such.  Then we have the puppies (still adorable, and now walking instead of just scooting across the floor), and we just had to put down one of our dogs.  The German Shepherd that Holly got when she was in high school just quit eating - she was down to less than 45lbs and could barely walk

Nothing new in the search for a boy, really - mostly the same old stuff ... boys who can't/won't read, boys who vanish ... such is life.

I am doing well in college, 4.0 GPA. My teenager is in her senior year and then off to college she goes. My sub is doing good. My Father who had a stroke is doing badly and my Mother who is his caretaker treats him like shit. So I'm a very angry person right now and I hope the saying "what goes around comes around" is true in her case.

You mean people still Can. We use to have a fruit cellar. Can'ed and made lots of jelly. My dad used to pickle herrings. I help local farmers bring in their corn or hay for the right to hunt their property.

~fast reply~

my pet is doing ok despite catching a cold from traveling between warm and wet climates ...he had to survery the damage left by Ike over the weekend in Texas at a couple of construction projects he's overseeing - so his collaring is temporarily on hold. i'm planning to do it in Dec on his birthday.

i'm finally relaxing after one hectic and busy summer concert season - it was the best ever ...from interviewing Lindsay Buckingham and Gavin Possdale to meeting Stevie Wonder and attending the hottest fests(Lolla and Oz), i'm looking forward to the Fall/Winter season with shows by James, Rachel Yamagata and Sarah Brightman coming soon ...also our plans for the main event in 2010 are in full swing.

September is a very busy month for us made slightly less busy by my not teaching right now -- though that just means I'm doing more writing.

Tom has a birthday, we have an anniversary, I have a birthday plus normally classes are starting which throws the entire city into chaos because apparently new students and their parents never learned how to drive and the population goes up about 50%.

Then in early October Fox and I will have our anniversary though it looks like we've been too distracted to do much about that this year. Crazy to try and get a nice hotel or B&B this time of year when folks visit to see the "changing leaves" which I don't honestly understand the attraction of.. I see ours changing in our yard right now. Give me %5 and you can park your butt on a lawn chair in my yard for an afternoon if you like.
