Also we need to start teaching Jedi belief because more and more people are recognising that as a true religion in the UK.

If we start teaching the Jedi belief system we'll have children moving things with their minds in no time.

George Lucas is like mosses, his written world a conduit from God.

Aye he is like Ganesh putting barrels in our way to challenge us, the film version has a slightly different religious interpretation.

Creationism is really Sithism in disguise - Lucas has much to answer for.

...it's a brand new doctrine

It's not really a "doctrine" at all. It offers absolutely no informative substance. It's an empty critique of a set scientific theory...a metaphysical notion of the gaps.

Education is not about arriving at answers, but acquiring information and understanding. Remember back in math class when the teacher didn't care whether you arrived at the correct answer or not...you still needed to write out the equation(s) that yielded it?

What is the creationist textbook going to have inside? One page with "god did it!" written in bold in the center?

Here is one of the definitions of the word 'doctrine': you will see that we agree:

"A principle or body of principles presented for acceptance or belief, as by a religious, political, scientific, or philosophic group; dogma."

Actually I just noticed another mistake: "his written world" instead of "His written word". Maybe you assumed I'm quite artistic and clever and meant to say 'world' instead of 'word', in which case you are right I did.

I suppose...so their doctrine is: "god did it!".

No informative powers. No clue as to "how" it happened...certainly none that can be substantiated and verified consistently. But they are really good at pointing the finger at minor gaps in current scientific theories and saying "see?!" and then shimmying their "alternative" in right behind.

The problem with Religion and the way it always seems to win is they will always say God did it even now when the model proposed in the bible for the creation of the earth and the universe seems unlikely to us, they can argue that it was just a metaphor for our child like minds to be able to understand complex things.

If the theory of evolution was proven to be 100% fact by some future discovery, the religious community would argue they always knew that was the case because God wants to challenge our faith and therefore created a mechanism for evolution that contradicted the bible to do so.

Science will never win in terms of faith.
