I am considered by many to be a very senior 'Old Guard' Dominant/Master.
When I greet another Dom, whether in person or in an email, I will always start by saying something like 'Hello Sir'.
This is regardless of whether he is younger or older, more experienced or less experienced, worthy or not, and whether submissives/slaves are present or not.
I don't judge. I just show respect through accepted protocol, even if the Dom is 18 years old and a novice.
I finish an email by saying, 'Respectfully, (my name)'.
None of this diminishes me even slightly, and actually elevates me in the eyes of Doms who know anything about etiquette or protocol.
If I address other Doms in this way, then I suggest that a submissive might consider doing likewise.
