Also, because of the Iron Curtain days, most Americans my age are conditioned to think of Western Europe as "Europe" and Eastern Europe as "The Eastern Block" or Soviet "Satellite States". Demonizing SUVs won't keep Grandma warm this winter, and it won't keep American manufacturing in business. And some people require SUVs for their work or their lifestyle, neither of which do I want my government controlling Choke off energy and we will be forced into a recession by definition - we'll have to slow growth. But open the energy spigots and you'll fuel growth. Obama represents recession, Republicans represent growth. The choice is a no brainer!
