bestbabync -> Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:02:01 AM)

How do you feel?  Why did Clinton cancel her New York rally appearance?  Do you think this will cause problems for the Obama campaign?  Do you believe that this issue, which most politicians agree is a huge threat to world, can be a mutual concern for both the Dems & Rep parties?

...er....what issue? Any chance of a link to the story you are commenting on?

That's what I was wondering also..........

If no one knows, it probably won't hurt anything. Just saying.

so sorry!....i meant to post this link!

kittinSol -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:25:58 AM)

Clinton refused to fall into a trap. It's wise of her. Next!

LaTigresse -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:27:36 AM)

I don't think it is big enough news to matter one way or another for the democrats. Hillary isn't running for office.

bestbabync -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:32:56 AM)

but Hillary has been campaigning for Obama.  that is why i posed this question.  from where i sit, both the dems & reps have the same position on this issue.  so why not show support by making an appearance?

DomKen -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:36:03 AM)

Because it would be used to confuse voters that Palin is endorsed by HRC as well as serving to lend credibility to Palin on issues of national security.

Hilary is right and whoever invited Palin is wrong.

sub4hire -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:38:05 AM)

I don't think insignificant things like not showing up to a rally is going to hurt either candidate.

There could be numerous reasons why she chose not to show up.

Knowing the history does anyone really believe Hillary is supporting him for any other reason than the fact he is a democrat?
It isn't exactly hidden knowledge that the two cannot stand one another.

...because it would have been politically naive to attend and Clinton is anything but politically naive.

.......given your previous posts, all i can say is.....you wish.

...maybe so, but reducing the issue to echoing an SNL skit doesn't do the issue any good.

You appear to be trying to create some political capital out of nothing.

bestbabync -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:52:29 AM)

i did not reduce the issue to the SNL skit, that was done in the article not my post.  nor am i trying to create some political capital out of this.  but many voters truly believe that Iran's threat to Isreal is real and that is what the rally is about.  i was posing the question mostly because i wanted to know what others think & feel on this issue.

Thadius -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 8:54:06 AM)

It is a shame that Hillary decided not to attend, however I can understand her political reasons for the decision.

See I thought this was more of a story than that...

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.
The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.

...true, but that dynamic is why Clinton didn't attend.

..really? Then why give the thread a title that names Obama? He wasn't invited, was never going to attend yet you still felt it necessary to reference him. No trying to create political capital? Harumph.

...then start a thread on Iran/Israeli issues.

bestbabync -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 9:02:12 AM)

i titled the thread based on the fact that Hillary Clinton has been actively campaigning for Obama.  both she & Bill Clinton endorsed Obama.  the Clintons are powerhouse Dems.  Iran is a "hot button" issue in this election.
i seriously wanted to hear what others think.

Logical enough, philo, but it's scary to just imagine the circus that would result from such a thread - I feel the love already [&:] .

......you could have just as easily titled the thread "will this cause problems for McCain" based on the idea that Ms Palin was politically naive enough to not drop out of a platform that would draw the inevitable SNL comparison. However, somehow i doubt that would have occured to you.

...true, a highly emotive subject...but arguably a very important one.

Palin couldn't drop out of this event, it fits in with the dog and pony show set for her when the UN comes back into session.  McCain is making a trip to introduce her to the various world leaders.

servantforuse -> RE: Do you think this will cause problems for Obama (9/17/2008 9:32:16 AM)

The Jewish vote usually goes to Democrats in Presidential elections. With Hillary not attending this event she is picking politics vs what is right. Because of her move to not attend, the Jewish vote is now up for grabs and likely to go to the GOP...
