I didnt participate as i wasnt posting on this part then. However, it is of interest. and its good to have updates on these kinds of cases. It would have been interesting to know if he followed his father's political party or set out on his own. I think, reading back through this thread, that those posting kept pointing that out. what he did was illegal, but no one could state if he did it for his own purposes or for the democratic parties purposes.

Sorry, my bad, but still my money is on the Mods coming and telling you you should have started a new thread and referrenced the old one. Oh and the reason is that the ones on Canadian politics tend to be ignored because most posters here are American.

I remember this, it wasn't 'hacking', she was just stupid enough to have security questions that could be guessed....name of her pet or something like that. Some kid managed to get in, changed the password and gave it to the viewers of an imageboard.....no political purposes, just for general mayhem that the 'legion hurr' side of anonymous loves. Someone alerted the authorities, they track it down via bogus email account to son of some politician. Not political purposes, I'm sure he/they'd have loved to get into obamas (or bruce willis etc) just as much, just Palins was the vunerable one.

Also to note, the more active american anons of that culture tend to identify as libertarian, or anarchist, or some other nutty shitball philosophy....far from left wing anyways. It was some of them that started the Obama=joker 'why so socialist' freaky grinning picture thing.

This is a rare example of a necro that's ok.  If it were always bad to necro threads, we'd just lock them after six months.  This necropost provides new information that directly relates to the thread topic, and most of the people in the original conversation are still active posters.

I might suggest, if this comes up again in the future, that the person doing the necro make it clear in the post that the thread is old.  Seems like good etiquette.  That's a suggestion off the top of my head, though, not an official policy of the site.

In any event, I wanted to be sure people knew that we're not planning to lock or pull this thread, in case they were holding off posting because of that concern.

While I totally agree with this, I am not surprised. There are a few on here who have made it clear that the only people who deserve any kind of respect are on the liberal side of things. They kinda counter balance the ones on the right who feel the same way about the left.

That said. If it was the Senator's son, all that proves is the son is an ass. His actions do not necessarily reflect that of all democrats.
