Everyone has different viewpoints and definitions of what submitting, dominating, and playing are. In my view, I submit to the dominance of another when "playing" or doing my particular service kink. There's no need for sex to be involved. I like sex and was hoping I could find someone to serve and have sex with, but the sex wasn't as necessary as the serving. I would have had no problem serving a gay male dominant and was seriously thinking of starting to look in that direction before Santa arrived.

I tend not to look at profiles very often. On rare occasions I will, but not often. I enjoy looking at who is looking at me. It helps me learn about that person, especially if they are a poster.

Looking is FUN,  and interesting !   Think of it as the cyber equivalent of sitting on a bench in a busy city park , and observing everyone who walks past .... sometimes you might even flirt .

It's a community.  With real people.  It's not all about the sex...at least not for me.

I love to read people's profiles just to connect them with what they are posting.  :)

Just like in RL, I watch....In other words, I look at profiles and read the forums, but don't chime in much. I like to see the variety of interests and opinions.

I do realize that :) However, I don't even understand where their interest in what I've written would come from.

Fact:  If anyone says something/anything that perks my interest here on the forums, I look at their profile.

Fact:  If something intelligent is said I look at their profile so I have some inkling as to if they are dominant or submissive.

Fact: I have all sorts of folk who look at my profile because of something I wrote here in the forums.

Fact: People want to put some sort of person to the words written in forums.

Fact:  It has nothing to do with desiring you, but wanting to check you out for hell of it.

Therefore:  stop worrying, its not always all about YOU!

Interesting answers! Thanks everyone :)

It's an interesting dynamic. I had, originally, had a sort of mental 'disconnect' between the forum and the profiles. I suppose it didn't occur to me that for some people they're so blended!

It's a fun dynamic. I like having red on the side bar (it's fun! makes me feel interesting) I was just mildly confused :D

I should probably update my profile with some different infos with this latest revelation. XD Many funs!

If you post at all, you'll get lots of interesting people reading your profile. I'm a male submissive, specifically to dominant women. I get looked at by all sorts of people. In the beginning, it's a bit off setting, but then you realize people are just curious about the person posting. Then you get used to it.

People who look at your profile aren't all looking to bone you. Lots of times, people from the forum will peek at the profile to get a sense of who they're talking to. When I click your name from the forum, it takes me to your full profile. If I wrote something that sparked your interest, you could never imagine popping over to check out my profile and seeing who I am, even though I'm clearly not seeking gay male subs?

I'm definitely guilty of profile perving, and I get lots of views every day from people who are clearly just popping in from the forums.

For the same reason people look at train wrecks and carnage at an interstate pile-up....it's there!

Hmm... I'm so confused.

I'm very clearly a GAY male submissive... I have that declared and everything.

Why are so many 'straight male dominants/switches' looking at my profile? o.O It's starting to get really confusing. My profile hasn't been looked at once by any gay or bisexual male dominants... but I don't mind that so much.

I mean, I'd understand if I'd even seen them in the forums (and I do love seeing that forum people have looked at me :D) but as far as I can tell they haven't posted in areas I have (or at all in most cases).

So, what are these men looking for? Why did they look at my full profile? Even if they made a 'mistake' while searching and accidentally selected men instead of women or something... you have to select 'view full profile' in order to pop up on my 'Who's Viewed Me' tab, right? Why do they even bother looking?

LOL

I won't get too overly concerned about straight male or female posters viewing your profile. Chances are they are simply curious about you as a person. I mean hell, most people who have viewed my profile have been straight and/or bisexual females! Just relax and enjoy the forums and don't worry about who happens to read your profile, it's all a minor consequence anyways!

Probably not  then again I seem to be in the minority. I'll usually only check out a profile if I want to send the person a message, or if they're someone that I want to show to someone else so that I can get a link.

Otherwise, if I was just dying to know, I'd probably just 'search' for you, and read what you've written there... if I understand correctly that doesn't pop up on the 'Who's Viewed my Profile' link... if it does then there's probably a few very confused people who get my name after every time I log in!

But then again, I do sort of have this conception of the forum space being *different* than the profile space. It's just a block I'll have to work past.

Unfortunately, except for a certain few forum peeps, most people who've viewed mine also messaged me & went to the bulk folder.  (I don't do switches, subs or married...)

Hah, I don't think so... I'm ultimately a pacifist :) I only hurt people when they ask me to! Or when they really really deserve it... or when I feel like it...

hmmm

actually, I only hurt people when it's not for money :P Easier way to say it.

Plus the weight isn't muscle... well, I suppose some of it is... but very little. :( That's why I'm trying to lose it... but lets not even get INTO that whole can of worms.

EDIT: Well now that was interesting *scritcheshead*

I liked to look at all kinds of profiles. From the forums to the pictures. I love learning about people as well. So curiosity and learning is my reason. I do not base it on gender or anything but that "person."

It is really worth the time wondering why people choose to do things?(speaking of course about the perving of ones PF)  If it matters that much, why not send an Cmail to them and ask them ? This way your answer will be stright from the horses hooves :)
Cheers!
