mitchmash07 -> Fakers, scammers, and other online miscreants... (9/18/2008 6:06:08 PM)

Hello all, this is mitchmash07. I'm a new Dom. I'm trying to learn more about this lifestyle and what it truly means to be a Dom. Anyhow, I've been on the search for the right female subby or slave that meets my needs and/or criteria. Unfortunately, I have been getting MANY responses from people with fake profiles or who have ulterior motives. In chatting with them on Messenger, I've learned that these people are either trying to get me to join some other adult dating site or are part of a larger scheme; typically from Nigeria and they have that old song-and-dance story about helping them financially(because they are being held against their will somewhere like in a hotel...yeah right)

Has this ever happened to anyone else on this site? Can collarme do anything about these fakes like ban them or review their profiles before deleting them? Any response would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe I've should have said any "constructive responses" would be appreciated. Hey, c'mon, I'm serious here folks. So, this has never happened to anybody else?

hell NO!

At riskof speaking for others, I think we would all suggest reading old posts on here...the most 'dominate' thing you can do is just walk away...if the are 'fake' and it is so obvious to you, why bother getting worked up?  Also, you might as well know, suggesting that some one is 'real' vs 'fake' doen't get very far around these boards...

Sit down, relax, read some posts...its all very educational once you get past our jaded and snarky natures...

scifi1133 -> RE: Fakers, scammers, and other online miscreants... (9/18/2008 6:20:49 PM)

As stated before [sm=beatdeadhorse.gif]

LOL, ok that was a better response LadyLupineNYC. I'm usually pretty good at discerning if someone is who they say they are. But, I'm not perfect....yet. ;)   As for getting "worked up", that's how I am. Hot blooded Latino and all that.

So 'real' and 'fake' are verboten words? Hmm, I had no idea. Thanks for enlightening me. I'll have to watch my words next time.

And, no, I haven't gone through old posts to find answers. Maybe I will. Maybe.

Unfortunately, you are correct in that statement. And honesty is a slowly disappearing virtue that I continue to search for and greatly admire.

Your candor is appreciated LadyLupineNYC. [;)]

...very very little... how can one be snide/snarky/sarcastic and miss a small world that clarifies so much???

I mean it's not like you are talking... take the time to proofread jeesh.

How does the icon of beating a dead horse, represent that something hasn't happened to the rest of us, at least similar to what the OP means?
To the OP: Seriously dude, get a hang of sarcasm, because if I've learned nothing from the boards, smart ass comments fit right in here, and if you can't get them; you end up looking like a goofball.

edited because I realized, I myself hadn't proofread my post...

Thanks. And yes, I do get the sarcasm.
