I've been having a fairly serious email conversation with a local dominant who has told me that he is writing to other women but telling them that he is serious about one (me). Four days ago I noticed that he created a new profile with roughly the same description but no picture, and removed his location from the one that I responded to. He's been using both quite actively, often at the same time.

I don't know what to make of this, but it strikes me as very odd. What in heaven's name is he up to?

Ask him - that is the only way to know instead of asking a bunch of strangers who are only going to second guess him exactly the same way you already are.

As opposed to the cyber women that yack the yack for several months and the week they promise to show up they pull their profile and start a new one in a different name and the same photo? Are you serious? Then do a casual public meet and go from there, my dear cyber is cyber until you meet and exchange eye to eye contact why would you believe ANYTHING you read in e-mail.

Local BD/SM groups are still the best and safest way to meet real people in real time, nothing cyber approaches reality.

All the best, too many game players and wannabe's with no commitment to following through. To be real is to honor life, and respect the right of everyone else to be happy as well, too many feel compelled to share their agony of rejection and disappointment with the world.  You are female you get 20 to 1 the responses that men do so just and a new photo of your own, and add tot he profile the things that matter to you.

Depends on the groups.  They aren't for everyone.  And some of them are definitely not the best.

The problem with simply asking him is that he can lie.

Sure, ask him and see what he says.  Then, take that information and add it to the rest of the mixture, which includes what he actually DOES, how YOU feel about it, and then make a decision from there.

Being a webmaster, and familiar with php forums, I will tell you that when you log into collarme, your cookies tell it who you are.  You cannot log 2 accounts at once from the same computer.  If you logged on account “A”, then open a new browser and logged account “B”, the moment you change pages, post or do anything with the A account, you would simply end up logged in twice under the B account.  The thought of using 2 separate computers with different cookies and logging 2 accounts is pretty strange.  I mean, you could log into chat rooms and carry on conversations with yourself.  If he starts sending chat requests to himself, you might consider finding someone more mentally stable.

If you have never talked on the phone or met in person, I would think it more disconcerting he is “writing to other women telling them he is serious about you” than possible alt profiles he may or may not have created.

Actually, this isn't true.  You just have to use two different rendering engines, say open one account using IE (Trident engine) and the other with Firefox or other Mozilla browser (Gecko engine).

In fact, to double-check before I posted this I opened both my own and my domestic's accounts here on CM and used each to check mail, browse forums, etc. both using Firefox with the IE Tab add-on rendering each a separate way inside the same browser.

You know exactly what to make of this. Whether you follow your instincts or believe whatever nonsense he's feeding you is up to you.

There is not "relationship?"  No "committment?"
He is playing the field, just as you should/could be.
Are you feeling a bit jealous?
Play standoffish and see if he comes to you.  In other words, play hard to get.
This is not misleading esp if you have not told him he is your only "candidate?"

I spoke to Sir and another dude at the same time.  Both knew.  Both told me in the end, one was up to me to choose.  I slowly realized who I would spend more time with in email and then told the other.  The dude backed away realizing someone else had captured my mind.

Two profiles?  So?  Sir has several on alt and several on AFF.  I dont "monitor" any of them.  He has earned my trust and respect.

Is this true even if you use two different browsers? I know that I can log onto some sites with two different browsers under different names and they stay "true", but I haven't checked to see how many places that works.
Oops, sorry, RumpusParable, I didn't notice your response to the post before I asked. My bad!

Thanks for mentioning that 2 different browsers engines on the same computer would cause the same effect as using two separate machines.

He has avoidance issues and other perplexing airport baggage by the sounds of it. The fact he doesn't tell you where he lives indicates he may see you as a kind of atypical scary Mary type figure thus he must go into his emotional shell sanctum and unburden his alpha maid tendencies thereby pigeon holing him into a errm a Pesky Pigeon.
