soul2share your post cracked me up, especially the part about the dvd's. This whole thread is teaching me how "normal" Viktor is (he's my first cat). One other thing he seems to just have to do is to push everything off any surface. And he'll watch me as he's doing it too, he'll just lie down all innocently on the coffee table (I've since quit the fight of not allowing him on it) and front paw or back, he will s l o w l y push until whatever object is in its path is on the floor. He does this with my end table and kitchen table too. It's not at all uncommon for me to come home and find the perimeter around the floor of each table full of all the items that were once on the table. If nothing else, he is forcing me to be organized. Oh yeah and another strange thing - every time I go to the bathroom he bolts in there and jumps in the tub. And then he sits in the tub watching me do my business. One thing that helps tire the little stinker out so he doesn't keep me up all night - I pull out the laser pointer before I go to bed and let him chase it back and forth across the house until he is so tired out he flops over on his side and literally pants like a dog with his tongue hanging out of his mouth (this is hysterical to see, btw). I pet him and soothe him and then he falls asleep...and then I can fall asleep. Now he looks forward to it every night and will start darting around the living room looking for it until I pull it out.

ahhhhh, yes...the laser pointer.....mine love it!!!! To the point that Smooch will steal it. I actually found it IN the fish tank one day! I love to get them running from different directions, and on the tile floors, they can't stop, so I get kitty pile ups in the middle of the room! Or one is running to get it from one room, and another is coming from another direction unseen, and when they pop out, they scare each other to death!!!!! KB does the table trick....and he will look right at me when he's doing it. I'll be telling him "DON'T do it...don't you dare!", and he just keeps pushing whatever it is, then looks over the edge of the table as if to say, "well! How did THAT happen?" Boo is my bathroom kitty....when I'm getting ready to go anyplace, he's right there on the vanity wanting to be loved.....and he sits on the edge of the bathtub, too. And watches the water when the toilet gets flushed. And he is forever sneaking up behind me and just flopping down on the floor, and I step on him. Another trick of theirs is to hide someplace, and when I go to look for them, they won't answer me when I call. I start looking in cupboards, closets, all the little nooks and crannies, and about the time I start to panic thinking the missing one got out on me, I happen to look up and see the offender on top of the cupboards, just watching me go nuts. I swear, they are snickering at me! Little snots! But I loev 'em to death, and would be heartbroken if anything happened to them!

squirels and lizards. Bi and Ci are Shelties. they are supposed to be herding dogs, but they dont know that. for some reason they have decided that it is thier job to alert me to any and all squirels and lizards in the surrounding yards. my job is to pay attention and be alert when they corner these fercious beasts in thier trees. of course if they happen to chase a lizard up the fence, i am supposed to rush forward with praise and a treat because they have saved me and the plants from sure harm. oh and of course, the praise also is to come when they rush into the kitchen to harrass the ice maker, or my phone for ringing, or yahell when i get an email. i exist in a much safer and alert filled world. my attention whores keep me well informed.. hehe.. lee

smokes something not legal in most places, buys a kitten, buys a laser, watches the kitten chase the laser light and giggles for hours on end yep this is so much better.

My cat is another one of those 'it simply MUST be running water' though recently you has taught himself to drink out of the toilet. He will also get into the shower, get all wet, jump out with an air of disgust and proceed to lick himself dry. Yes, he knows over things in the middle of the night, training us to make sure we keep nice, clutter free surfaces (really, he is just a persnickety gay designer). Sleeps on dry cleaning bags. Has 'greeted' bound & blindfolded men with a nice body rub; lord knows what they thought I was going to do with them with the cat [;)]. Insists that if he hides in a shoe box (or my favorite) a shoe box LID, clearly we cannot see him in his impregnableness fortress of solitude. Woe is the wayward ankle! But my personal favorite is his own little dark addiction...baby carrot bags. Seriously. He acts like its made of cat nip. Even the smell of carrots gets him all excited. Sometimes I cut the bad open and just let him go to town, rolling all over it.

Gracious weighs about 14 lbs. She loves boxes. I have a small box that she is especially fond of. it's about 4" deep, 6" wide, and 8" long. When she sits in it she kind of overflows.. but somehow.. SOMEHOW she manages to hunker down into it and sleep.

Hey GT, now see Viktor would eat the box. I had a box of "things to file" on the floor and now I have box shavings and "things to file" scatted all over the floor. He'll sleep at my feet but inevitably he'll think my big toe is a mouse and attack it while I'm sleeping. I think there's an impression of me on the ceiling...

I had a cat when I was married who would get into shoe boxes and wait for you to push her around in it! And if the box was in a closet, she'd push it out into the middle of the floor where it's in the way, hop in and wait! Mickey would love getting shoved back and forth on the floor! There was the occasional wipeout, tho...crash into the wall, the box would flip over.....she'd hop up, right the box, and get back in. OMG...then there was the day the cops showed up! Mickey and Alex, both cats, and I call my cats my kids, were running around like a couple of tornadoes while I was trying to clean one day...it was springtime, and I had the balcony door open. Well, about the time that they almost dumped my mop bucket for the third time, I chased the into the living room, yelling "Damn it! If you kids don't stop it, I'm gonna beat you senseless!!!" (Note what I said about the balcony door!) About 10 minutes later, there's a knock on my door.....it's the police. I let them in, and they are looking around. I ask them what I can do for them, and they tell me that they are here to check on my "children". I just started to laugh, and they didn't know what to think. Along about then, the two of them came charging down the hall, ran circles around me and the two officers and took off. I introduced the officers to my "kids". They checked the place out to make sure I wasn't hiding abused children someplace, got a laugh out of the whole thing and left to tell my "concerned citizen" that there were no kids, just one crazy lady with two cats. And I still threaten the boys with bodily harm....I just make sure the windows aren't open when I do it! (ppffffft..like they believe me anyway!)

One of my cats can be lounging around outside, but then will come inside to use the cat box. She could go anywhere in the woods, but I think she just likes to make me open the door to let her in.

I used to have cats but due to unfortunate circumstances lost them. My soon to be husband has told me that sometime after the wedding I can get two new baby kitties. Reading this thread just reminds me of all the reasons why I cant wait. Thanks guys~ [8D] edited to delete one husband because one is all the law allows

I have recently moved into a house that has 2 cats living in it. My roomate (who owns the cats) is allegic to them so now they spend all their time following me around. One is deaf and will follow me meowing in the loudest voice I have ever heard a cat use, until i turn around and look at her. As soon as I do she sort of smiles and wanders off. The other one has decided that I simply can not be in the bathroom by myself. I guess he thinks I'm in danger in there. He will sit on the edge of the tub and just watch me till I leave. Oh and both of them have figured out I sleep during the day and the new fun house game is to jump up on the bed and swat my nose before hauling ass back out of my room. Lmao.
