the cat who raised me, who i still consider my real mother, had a fetish for dirty wool socks...they had to be dirty & they had to be wool...in our house, the dirty clothes went into the laundry bin on the back porch & every now & then she would get up in there, root around for the perfect sock & drag it around the house to the perfect place, drop it & then howl over it...then she would go get another & do the same with it...my human mother got tired of picking dirty socks up off the floor, so had my father cut a heavy piece of plywood to cover the dirty clothes bin...Mitzie would just get up there & push on it till she could get at the socks... she also liked to turn on the water in the kitchen sink to get herself a drink of water...unfortunately, she was left-pawed, so always turned on the hot water...it didn't matter to her, because it would be cold when she got her drink & someone would find it running & turn it off before she needed another drink...then we went on vacation & the neighbors were feeding her...sometime between their last visit & our arrival home, she turned on the water for a drink...when we got home, the hot water tank was empty & all we had was cold...after that, if we left her for any significant amount of time, we would turn off the water to the sink..... she could completely hide her entire body by turning her head sideways so that her eyes were covered by a chair or table leg...then we all had to play, "oh no!! where did Mitzie go??"

She has had a full blood workup a once before and everything was normal, so the vet isn't concerned about her behavior; she just thinks she is odd. When I first noticed the behavior, I was worried that there was something wrong with her, but when I mention it to my vets, they are not worried about her. She is pretty normal and healthy; she just likes the taste of tape g How he gets around his statement of not having a cat in the house.... he doesn't have a cat in the house... he has several. where should I start... the dog .... hmm how about eating a cell phone ... a tube of hydrocortizone , a battery and that was the only thing that made him gag a little , when we call the vet tehy just ask what he has ate now as sson as they ask who we are lol... now the cat he just hates us all.and wonders why we speak to it , you know that glare of "how dare you speak to me" ?

lilsubl's kitty mommy reminds me of my old, tailless dog Boots. She was like my doggy grandma growing up. She'd always bake me cookies and knit me sweaters. She wasn't very good at either, but I still say those were pretty impressive feats for a dog! -Tabris

LeMis...my one cat, Smooch, LOVES the scent or taste of money......as in the folding kind! If my purse is open, or if it's laying on a table, or in my pocket, he'll sniff it out and run off with it...moved the couch one day, and found $50 I didn't even know I was missing! Before I got my direct deposit, I'd cash my paycheck to pay the bills....I caught the little bugger just as he grabbed 6 $100 bills out of my purse one day! If he could figure out how to get hold of the car keys, he'd bo out buying all his kitty buddies all the catnip they could handle! Kyra, that's cool.....some animals just eat weird things....not really weird, but my parent's dog used to treat the garden as her own personal salad bar......and she just loves strawberries!!!!! The best was when she'd take a bite out of the onion and then come up and breathe in your face!
