Slvmike, as you can see from the last page, the majority of us want these damn lawbreakers gone. Like I said, and like Irish Knight said, these assholes steal our jobs, steal our "treasure" through their usage of our social services and FREE public school, which by the way are having to hire translators, which drains the budgets of already strapped school districts, and many of them not only violate our laws by simply jumping the border, but by drug trafficking, organized crime like MS13 (one of Interpol's current top threats), identity fraud, god knows how many car accidents from people with no insurance, and other myriad laws. I'll gladly let them do a sweep to root them out, and gladly drive a bus with ALL OF THEM including their "citizen" children to the border and uncerimoniously kick each of them in the ass and cheer when the gate is shut and locked.

And your opinion as far as I am concerned is based on nothing more than a viscreal dislike of furriners. On the one hand you decry the breaking of the law, than turn around and suggest to get rid of this blight on our existance we should ignore the very bedrock those laws are based on...due process.
You lost me with that post and anything further you have to say on the subject should avoid talking about breaking the law...seeing as you yourself are quite willing to do it to achieve your means.

Slvemike, illegal aliens don't get a "trial" they get a "hearing."
I believe in due process too but not for people who sneak into my country.
Why aren't you up in arms about some of their governments?

rex, just so you realize, I don't blame the illegals for wanting a better life.  I've known quite a number of them ... some in the biblical sense.  I only find their breaking of our laws to get it to be the problem.  I place the blame on corporate greed and a willingness of the public to look the other way so that they can save 20 cents on a pound of bacon.
Call our troops back from Iraq and place them on our borders.  Let them defend our borders.  At the same time, we can start the mass deportations.  But here's an idea.  We offer those who self ID and pay a fine the chance to apply for citizenship.  We ask them to earn it by serving in the military overseas (not Iraq since I've already stated that we pulled the troops out).  Those who do so get citizenship at the end of their service.  If we have to come find you, then you and your family go bye bye.  No long court battles but a "You had the chance to step up and do the right thing now get the fuck out."
Its not a perfect plan but it has its merits.

I don't blame them either, Latin america is mostly a cesspit. And I like your idea.

Sanity -> RE: A Concise View of US Immigration Policy (9/27/2008 9:52:55 AM)

That's why they start moving out voluntarily once deportations start, they don't want to be "ripped apart" as you put it. And yes, if they're here illegally it's THEIR FAULT if they do get "ripped apart".

Well if your going to cite popeye, you better check if his number is right ...and start building a hell of a system to process these 30 million illegal immigrants, because unlike what a prevous poster said...they do have rights and one of them is a right to due process. And than there is the problem of family's you better be prepared to rip apart...you know some of these people have had babies here and they ARE American citizens(unless you are now willing to rewrite some laws..)So deport their parets and assume responsibility for these young underage citizens.....a hell f a kettle of fish...huh?

slvemike4u -> RE: A Concise View of US Immigration Policy (9/27/2008 9:57:49 AM)

Again with the voluntary self deportions. Is there really anyone here who believes any of these people, who have come here, sometimes under appaling conditions will in any great numbers "surrender" voluntarily to deportation....that is a joke and a non-starter...

Slvemike, sure they will if they can't work and can't eat.
"Appaling conditions?
What does that mean?

slvemike4u -> RE: A Concise View of US Immigration Policy (9/27/2008 11:23:47 AM)

Can't work and can't eat....popeye your kidding right.Your first premise is that they will voluntarily surrender....now you have business owners stopping the practice of making obscene profits by using undocumented labor....again I presume voluntarrily.....sheesh you have more faith in the essential goodness of your fellow man than I do.
