The injury ended up being a broken off blood feather. The poor thing yelped like crazy when the vet plucked what was left of the feather from its wing earlier this evening. She's doing fine now, sitting in her cage looking at me with those large jet-black eyes (which happen to be throwing flames in my direction). One more night of isolation for her then she can rejoin the other one tomorrow... provided she doesn't start bleeding again during the overnight.

As to what I'm doing right now... waiting for the laundry to finish so I can move the injured bird into the quieter, darker, and warmer back bedroom for the last night of its "hospital" stay... listening via my cans to The Phantom of the Opera...
