I agree with everything you said. And most of it applies to both Obama and Palin. Religious dogma is religious dogma. Palin sticks with hers. Obama didn't denounce his until it became clear he would be the one injecting racism into the race if he didn't. He had about 20 years of room to do so on social and personal reasons prior to that and didn't. The only message he really has is change. To ignore that is willful ignorance. What you have a problem with kitten is not Palin, it's the Republican Party. I have a problem with both parties. I don't think either one has the integrity, the leadership or the will power to pull this country out of anything. After all, it both of them put us where we are. Both parties cater to the fringes in order to capture as many votes as possible. Neither one really gives a shit about this country or we would not be where we are today in terms of wars, financial catastrophies and social division because members of both damned well put us here. Both parties play the games of raising issues for no other reason than manuevers for future elections.
I have to vote the lesser of evils because I really don't have a common sense kind of person standing up there. I have a man who has no resume, who is a powerful speaker but hasn't backed up those words by actions on critical votes a lot of times and opted to just say present. I have a woman whose background paints her as one of those types I just can't stand. It's not conservatism I can't stand. It's the extreme right'ss affect on it. I'm all for lesser government, fewer taxes and less intervention in my life. NEITHER damned party offers that though. Both offer more and more and more of the same. It just depends on which way you lean personally whether or not they appeal to you.
I don't lean. I basically want both sides to shut up, quit arguing and handle issues with a common sense approach to them rather than trying to bend over backwards for every whining segment of society just to court a vote. The reality of it is though that I have to vote for one side or the other and that side is going to do it's damndest to determine how I live, what I do, how I do it, and I have basically crap to choose from.
Palin is a loser. So is Obama. Out of the entire cast of presidential folks standing up there, all 4 of them, McCain is the one dislike least. Having spent a good portion of 8 years in the military and in the middle east, he's at least the one I can respect on that ground. Past that, neither side is really offering much except their platforms and for a lot of people, that's all it really boils down to.
