It seems to me that very few Obama supporters here have done any research on their guy, other than listen to the Comedy Channel, listen to Keith Ubarmann on MSNBC,  or read the New York Times and Daily Kos.

We all have passion about our political views, left or right...but if you want to sell your story, if not convince others, you really should do some homework and not buy the party line, whether it be democrat or republican.

Forget about the parties, we are going to vote for a man that will be responsible for the security of our families not an academy award for acting, a man whose philosphy will frame his programs with respect to taxes, the economy, and intrusion into our private affairs.  Hey if you havn't succeeded in life, or went through college as if it was a four year vacation paid for by mom and dad, than Obama is your guy..you don't have anything to lose.  Enjoy!
You can scream and dance to Bruce Springsteen opening for Obama meetings, or you could pause for a minute and try to learn something of this mystery man who, despite accomplishing nothing legislatively in his public career, has written TWO memoirs...like Harry Potter and than the sequel.  Who are his mentors (Sol Olinsky?) Jerimiah Wright (?), who are his friends, Tony Rezko (?) Bill Ayers (?)  ? = Google name for full info.

Just one blog that might give a counter-view to think about...and accept or reject....

Psst... it's spelled "Olberman"

(Just didn't want you coming off like a ranting fool, who didn't even bother to check how to spell the name of a nationally known broadcaster... much less check his facts in a partisan echo-chamber post.)

Let me get this straight...this blog is the font of truth and wisdom, and all other sources of info are lies?

Too funny!

Here's something else you won't read the in the NY Times .. John McCain has ties to organized crime. It must be true because I read it on a blog!

I second that thought, Celeste! Yours has been the voice of reason in an otherwise highly emotion-charged topic. Kudos!

The job of the President is to protect and defend the Consitution. It is not his job to make sure nobody gets killed in another terror attack.

Hollywood aside, where do each of the candidates stand on that issue?

Ladies and gentleman, this has to stop.  We get the "drink the  Kool Aid" reference from Jim Jones.  The fact is that Jim Jones poisoned his followers mostly with "Flavor Aid."  Kool Aid was there, but it was not the main culprit.  Stop besmirching the name of a fine, American product like Kool-Aid.  We need not blame the delicious,. purple powder that we all grew up with for our downfall.

Hmmmmm......funny topic for someone who slants everything to fit his own view point.....
I do not get any info from a blog nor have I ever watched Colbert or Olberman(except when he was on Sportscenter) and yet in good conscience I support Obama and find little if anything of merit in Rezko, The Rev. or The Mad Bomber.
If they could, those who oppose Obama would show proof of wrong doing and not just make allegations based on some associations. Never forget, McCain was involved with Keating, a convicted felon and was known to try to meet with and sway regulators on his behalf, vacationed in Keating's home in the Bahamas on a number of occassions and never paid a dime for it until it all came to light.
Now, tell Me cory...how much did the S&L scandal cost to extricate the American public?....How much did Obama's association with the Annenberg foundation cost the public?....Rev. Wright cost you any money? Mr. Rezko?
Before you make allegations perhaps you should stop reading blogs from the right?...perhaps too much Rush Limbaugh at lunch?

Seeee, there is my problem. I didn't get Koolaide when I was a kid. My mom was a health food nut. Only 100% fruit juice for us. I missed out.

OMG, NEVER?  You NEVER had Kool Aid?  Yay!!!  I'm so happy, because I don't let my daughter have it, and I was worried she might be missing out on a critical part of childhood and may someday climb a clock tower...but if you never had it, well, you are ok.

The Kool Aid reference belongs to a whole litany of expressions I'd never heard until I joined collarme, like 'straw man argument', 'pot, kettle, black', 'comparing apples and oranges', 'tapdancing around a subject', 'what's good for the goose is good for the gander', and a quazillion of others that escape me right this minute but that still seem to pervade everyday collarchat talk .

I didn't get it for mine either. I was also a health food nut when it came to my kids diets. In that, I was much like my mother.
