ORIGINAL: SilverMark Hmmmmm......funny topic for someone who slants everything to fit his own view point..... I do not get any info from a blog nor have I ever watched Colbert or Olberman(except when he was on Sportscenter) and yet in good conscience I support Obama and find little if anything of merit in Rezko, The Rev. or The Mad Bomber. If they could, those who oppose Obama would show proof of wrong doing and not just make allegations based on some associations. Never forget, McCain was involved with Keating, a convicted felon and was known to try to meet with and sway regulators on his behalf, vacationed in Keating's home in the Bahamas on a number of occassions and never paid a dime for it until it all came to light. Now, tell Me cory...how much did the S&L scandal cost to extricate the American public?....How much did Obama's association with the Annenberg foundation cost the public?....Rev. Wright cost you any money? Mr. Rezko? Before you make allegations perhaps you should stop reading blogs from the right?...perhaps too much Rush Limbaugh at lunch? I'm not making allegations as much as pointing out the kind of people the Obama has chosen all his adult life to associate with or to consider his mentors. Since he doesn't have a track record that can be attacked or defended, it's only his associations that tell us something of what kind of President this man might be for our country. If you are satisfied that this man who is virtually unkown to most of us is qualified somehow to lead our country in the direction that you feel is best...than excercise your right in November to vote him into office. I also don't measure a man by how much money he costs me...which is really kinda crass...but if he is good for the country. The S&L crisis did not cost me anything I could measure...could you? As far as the famous "Keating Five", McCain was exonerated and not found implicated in anything criminal after a year and a half of hearings and study. Of the five Senators implicated, four were democrats, including John Glenn, a hero and advisor to Obama. Both Glenn and McCain used poor judgement, but were cleared of impropriety...which I will say but the Obama ads don't since they love to keep their impressionable followers ignorant of truth. The Senate hearings concluded, "McCain's actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him....Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate." What other stories is Obama going to make up attacking an American hero.?? Really, is that their best shot? Gimme a break!! Look..your not going to convince me, and I'm not going to convince you. Hopefully, it's the 30% if the population that is not commited that will swing left or right over the next month. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five#Glenn_and_McCain:_cleared_of_impropriety_but_criticized_for_poor_judgment
