LATEXBABY64 -> beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 9:45:09 PM)

IN our lifestyle i have ran across some that brag about all the dommes or doms or even subs they have had. All the things they have done. How much pain or ds stuff they can take or do...

I have found this at all age ranges sizes and shapes. sexual oddities whos dones the most and such
it gets a little boring and uninteresting after know said people after awhile. whats the point of being with someone that has done seen or had it all. what could bring to the table to such a person. sometimes to much is to much .   have you ever ran into said peeps  what was your iimpression

SNoB -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 9:48:41 PM)

Some people just think they need to impress everyone.  Some people like to hear themselves talk.  Its sort of a turn off to hear about someone bragging about how many partners they have had, and really anoying when you are negotiating a scene/doing a scene and they bring up past experinces over and over.

I was at a workshop with a play party once and met someone who introduced them self saying "Im an expert in almost every type of play, I just havent done it in real life"

NuevaVida -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 9:58:05 PM)

I'm sheltered. I haven't met these people.

marieToo -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 9:59:46 PM)

It doesn't bother me in the least to be with someone who has done it all...or at least done a lot of it.  In fact, I prefer it because there's so much that I haven't done and things I'd like to do and try, and being with someone who has been there gives me a certain level of confidence in them.

Anyway, I think no matter how much experience someone may have (at whatever) there is always more to learn, or someone new to share the experience with.

Its not an issue of someone having all of the experince, its the question of why do they needlessly brag about it?

sweetnurseBBW -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 10:20:44 PM)

I don't care if they have all this experience and done all these things but to continuously bring it up and brag about seems a bit insecure to me. People that assume everyone wants to talk about their experiences just feels like they are trying to prove something. If we are talking about experiences then that is one thing but to always need to brag is another.

I realize that was the main focus of the OP.  But he also said this....

And that's what I spoke to.  I have no use for a braggart either.  But I did see a postive in the specific question above.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 10:50:25 PM)

They've never done all that with ME. The people involved change the experience.

ElectraGlide -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 11:19:50 PM)

It does get boring on the scene when someone is bragging about how great they think they are. Of course potential play partners seem to be always in ear range of them. When someone is really good, people get sent to them, because of their reputation. I am monogamous so I talk about motorcycles, places to vacation, hobbies etc. until its time to play with my lady.

DefiantFlower -> RE: beware of the squishy people (10/7/2008 11:29:19 PM)

I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine, and he shall be my squishy!

Totally agree. When I met Master I had absolutely no real experience but he had been in the lifestyle for nearly 25 years. I was always worried that he had tried everything possible as he had had a live in slave for 8 years. He has always said it is different with each individual. You never stop learning and experiencing different things.

I don't find it boring or uninteresting if someone has more experience than me.  I've found there's always something new to learn or try in the Lifestyle.  I've met people who have had vast experience at "doing" certain types of play and they have either introduced or succeeded in changing the way i looked at it.

I don't care for a braggart in or out of the Lifestyle......but someone with confidence, knowledge and a willingness to share that knowledge with me, i find exciting....

If the "bragging" adds context to a discussion, then I'm fine with it.

There isn't a person alive who has "had it all"........and presumably you wouldn't turn down an evening with a politician/actor/comedian/scientist of your choice on the grounds that they are well-off for knowledge?

You may have a point with regard to those who have been in "the scene" (any scene) for a long time, in that they may be struggling to remain fresh and innovative........stated more as a question, rather than any insight.
