Is it true that the trooper tasered Palin's 12 year old nephew? I don't know if I would have abused the powers of my office, but I might have seen him fucked up somehow.

Who knows. Things get nasty in divorces and allegations fly. If he did, the mother should have pressed charges against him for child abuse at the time it occurred. Wonder if there is a record of any such thing? Seems like if there was, and he was found guilty it would be grounds for being fired from his job. Gotta wonder why the only thing in the official record that he did wrong was shoot a moose using his wife's permit. hmmm......

Now if you tasered a 12 year old, why are you being charged with shooting a moose?

I tried to find the pertinent passage in the document but couldn't.  But I had read in it previously that Wooten was just playing around and set the taser to a minor level, and the kid thought it was a game.  Unbelievable stupidity, but without malicious intent.

Wooten had been disciplined.  My impression was that the moose incident was the only charge that had not been addressed already by the time the Palins got involved.  So they used it to try to get a second disciplinary session for him.

Thanks for the clarification. I only heard the taser allegation in conversation with an American friend and it was a 'those of us who know the real story' kind of remark.
Palin still comes out as discredited. Enough to keep her out of the White House anyway.

This isn`t as evil or ugly as the Palins present it.

Apparently the nephew wanted to know what it was like to be tasered and the uncle(the trooper) went along with it.Stupid and immature? yes.

Aggravated and meaning harm? No.

They were both very foolish, the uncle more so b/c he was supposed to be the responsible one.But not vicious or done in anger.

A trooper in my state wouldn`t survive doing that or being drunk on duty,as this guy was.

Aswell.the governor wouldn`t survive long after abusing power like that in my state. We just lost one for getting caught with a gay lover and abusing his power to help the lover.

I don`t separate out Sarah ,the uncle or nephew or the hubster Todd from the family. They are all foul ups and birds of a feather.

It`s Anchorage-90210 .

How she was picked I still can`t understand.Imagery and hype wise, maybe. But smarts and real savvy? No way....

Not when you consider Olympia Snow or Christine Todd Whitman or Secretary Rice or any number of folks male and female.

McCain claims he knew about the investigation, went maveric on us and picked her anyway.

More like he flubbed and went with Pee-wee Herman`s responce to crashing his bike,"I meant to do that".

Again, sorry to simply report rumors, but I had read that McCain wanted Ridge or Lieberman to be his VP pick and didn't look at alternatives until late in the process.  (Both were pro-choice and were therefore unacceptable to the GOP's right wing, which was already not very enthused by McCain.)  I am dumbfounded that alternatives were not looked at.

On paper, she looks very good.  She's young, attractive, has lots of kids, is married to a minority who has solid blue collar credentials, and is female.  I don't fault McCain's staff for not seeing Troopergate as being anything big - the investigation could have gone either way especially with the solid GOP majority among the investigating body.

But her stand on the Bridge to Nowhere is hypocritical and her incredible stupidity during interviews (e.g., foreign relations) should have been seen during a proper vetting.

Conservatives already have to explain away W's disasters.  They shouldn't have to make excuses for Palin.

So much for Mr. Maverick.

It's not 'alleged' anymore. It's an official finding, that Sarah Palin is UNTRUSTWORTHY due to her past abuse.

But Obama is completely trustworthy, despite HIS past associations with asswipes like Ayers, Wright & Farrakahn....Gotcha.

" We find McCain’s accusation that Obama “lied” to be groundless. It is true that recently released records show half a dozen or so more meetings between the two men than were previously known, but Obama never denied working with Ayers.
Other claims are seriously misleading. The education project described in the Web ad, far from being “radical,” had the support of the Republican governor and was run by a board that included prominent local leaders, including one Republican who has donated $1,500 to McCain’s campaign this year. The project is described by Education Week as reflecting “mainstream thinking” about school reform.
Despite the newly released records, there’s still no evidence of a deep or strong “friendship” with Ayers, a former radical anti-war protester whose actions in the 1960s and ’70s Obama has called “detestable” and “despicable.”  from Factcheck.org

Any chance you'll stop repeating the Ayers lie now that you know it's a lie?

One would think so, but I've learned never to over-estimate the rigged American Political System.
