are there any submissive females that feel like it is in their make up or personality to support a dom emotionally when he feels down?

I am supportive and protective of him no matter how he is feeling, but when he's feeling down, I go into nurturing overdrive and try to be there in whatever way he needs me to be.

Sometimes that may be to give him space, or to just listen, or to cuddle with him, etc..... it just varies.

For me it is just natural to want to support my love (or anyone else I care about for that matter) in any mood he is in. If he is down, I would want him to feel better. If he is sick, I would want him to rest and let me help him in any way I could. If he is happy, I want to share in that happiness. I love him with all of my heart and no matter what mood he is in, I want to support him and make sure he knows just how much I care.

It's in my make-up as a human being to encourage and support my partner and those close to me. It has nothing at all to do with being his slave or his being a dom.

People do this for each other because they care enough to do so.

Always, that's what partners do, IMHO.

That can be one of the most important parts of the relationship.  Doms have problems, too - possible health or family issues, long work hours, unexpected bills, or anything else that can hit.  Sometimes it means that they need a little extra spoiling, sometimes it means the sub backing away for a short period of time and giving their Dom space (which is probably one of the hardest things to do), or maybe just sending along a little joke to make them smile.  In my relationship the support given during difficult times has been one of the strongest bond builders.  That's when my Master first told me that he didn't know what he would do without me.

PEOPLE should be this way. Not just females and not just submissives/slaves. The ones that aren't this way....are probably not worth knowing.

I agree that PEOPLE, in general, should be like that.  I feel that way when anyone i care about is sick or down or happy or whatever.  I do feel this more with 'Daddy'.  And I totally agree with Chambermaid that pulling back a little and giving them some space when they need it can be the hardest thing in the world to do.

I agree with you, but not that long ago there was a thread on here where a handful of female sub/slave types were very clear that they didn't want to see signs of weakness in their dominants, sooooooooo.

What to call s-types that cannot tolerate signs of "weakness" in their dominants: single.

Hopefully all of them when in a relationship that encompasses more than just occasionally scening.

We love each other, of course we try to have each other's backs. If he's stressed out, then I'm not going to sit around waiting for him to give me an order. Instead I do things that I know from experience helps him calm down.

If I'm stressed out, he does the same.

And neither one of us has a problem asking for the other's help.

I agree with what those above me say, it's one of the more important reasons we interact with other people.  It's not about Ds, or even a romantic relationship; it's about feeling empathy towards those around you and acting upon it in appropriately.

Occasionally, of course. However, I have no wish to be a therapist or even an enablist to consistant or constant depression. The best way I would have to show my support would be to suggest professional help .. something I am unable to provide.

I don't see being emotionally down as a "weakness."  We all have good days and bad days, we all have things happen in our lives that are unpleasant, and it is normal to get down when these things happen.

Doms are human, too, and each one will react differently to the stresses in their lives.  As a sub/slave I would see it as part of my service to my Dom to help him work through and get over whatever is stressing him out.

If it is a chronic condition, such as depression, I would encourage him to get professional help since I am not qualified to handle that myself.  I would support him in whatever way I could with whatever treatment he engaged in.

If you have a good solid relationship you do.  If not well, you'll be looking for a new partner soon enough.

There are some things that go beyond D/s... supporting the people I love when they are down is one of those things
