seeksfemslave -> Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:05:25 PM)

If yes why were fraudulent photos issued. ?
Only arskin,

Oh good grief.

My freshman write papers debunking this shit.

Do you deny fraudulent pics were issued ?

Where is the proof Seeks ?

thornhappy -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:11:47 PM)

Jeez, even Mythbusters took this on.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:13:41 PM)

I don't even know how to answer this Seeks.  I'm not a photography expert, but they look real to me.  Do you think the astronauts are liars or were they drugged?(I've heard that before from other conspiracy theorists.)

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:14:45 PM)

i thought it was an orsen wells episode we saw on tv.  you know...just like his radio show where many thought we were being invaded.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:19:24 PM)

When the LEM ( lunar excursion module) landed on the Moon a bloodie big rocket engine was used to decelerate it and permit a soft landing.
It is easy to find pics. showing footprints surrounding the  LEM .
The blast from the rocket would gave cleared the area of any soft debris and no footprints would have been visible.
Am I wrong ?

Seeks, I'm thinking this just confirms m opinion that you are a few bricks short of a load. Or have ya just had a few pints too many ?

BlueEyedSubinDE -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:25:06 PM)

Ok, ok, I can't keep a secret any longer, it's too much to bear.  There was no moon landing, they landed in my back yard.  It was really quite the event.  Mom made rice krispy treats and tang.  Little known fact, Neil Armstrong doesn't like Tang.  The wavy flag thing?  Yeah that was me, I opened the back door to peek and secret service guys quickly slammed the door shut.  Damn those guys have no sense of humor.

Musicmystery -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:27:16 PM)

Yes. The shadows, the footprints....this has been debunked time and time again.

Isn't there anything on TV? Or maybe a sunset you could watch?

That argument has been addressed before, Seeks:
http://www.braeunig.us/space/hoax.htm

quote:

The astronauts make deep footprints around the landing site, yet the Lunar Module exhaust should have blown the area clean of dust.
The downward traveling exhaust stream would impact the ground and rebound mostly outward and away from the surface. Since there is no atmosphere to interact with, the gas molecules would simply fly off and disperse (see note below). The only dust particles that would be displaced would be those directly impacted by the exhaust gas. Since the exhaust stream was concentrated mostly in the area directly beneath the Lunar Module, this zone would experience the greatest disturbance. The area adjacent to the LM would be largely unaffected by the exhaust stream.

NOTE: On Earth, the exhaust gas would impact and displace air molecules that would, in turn, displace other air molecules and so on. This phenomenon would create a large area of disturbance. Since the Moon has no atmosphere this type of widespread disturbance would be nonexistent.

Only arskin,

Look, what with preparing a hugely ambitious mission with computers that make my calculator look like something from Star Trek, they just plain forgot about ordering a photographer - and you know how busy it is on the moon for photographers, what with all them bleedin' Martians picking it as the place for their weddings - you have to book months in advance you know?

pahunkboy -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 3:59:19 PM)

I recall my parents waking us up in the middle of the night to watch it.

then I recall being afraid over the protests.

then mom did not want me seeing whatever went on in soap opreras.  So she would cover my eyes and we walked thru the living room together.

I do think we did go to the moon.

Termyn8or -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 4:00:08 PM)

For decades I have watched the bunking, debunking, dedebunking and the dededebunking and have come to a conclusion. I don't care.

I know about photgraphy and light angles, and the results a still inconclusive. The flag waving without an atmosphere is something they don't want to talk about.

I do know that back then alot of people had telescopes. They used to put them in the front entrance of Sears and other retailers right before Christmas tome. Sometimes empirical evidence is not all that sound. First of all they would have to fool the world, other countries have telescopes, big ones at that. There had to be something headed for the moon and something headed back. If it can make it, why not put people in it ?

Second, the only reason they would have to lie is for political advantage, after all the Russians did beat us onto space (orbit-Sputnik). Saving face would not happen with a played out scenario like some say. There are too many people on this planet to shut them all up.

If you want me to act all professional for a second, I say there is at least an 85% probability that we did indeed land on the moon, in a manned flight. Even if the pictures were fake, what the telescopes showed was not.

And yes, IMO some of the pictures were fake, but that doesn't change the facts. I don't liken the fact that they faked anything, but they do what they do. I guess they are used to it.

Well I think the point "exhaust gases only acting in the vertical" is weak in the extreme.
The gases emerge from the nozzle of the rocket at a range of angles.
Sideways forces must result when those gases strike the lunar surface.
It follows the sand in which the footprints can be seen would be dispersed.
Am I wrong ?

LadyEllen -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 4:06:49 PM)

How deep is the "topsoil" on the moon Seeks?

Is it a universal depth all over the moon?

How do you know this? (whatever your answer)

seeksfemslave -> RE: Did US astronauts land on the Moon ? (10/12/2008 4:10:39 PM)

Well LadyE neither the LEM nor Armstrong sank into it did they ?
This was a worry at the planning stage as I understand it.
