Bear, the words "easy" and "Red" should never be in the same sentence.

Poor Axey.  *there, there*

The book by E.B. White, called "Charlotte's Web" had a lovely rat named Templeton in it.  [:)]

Don't do that, I am palatable not patable
Charlotte Templeton is a rat that did something nasty to you?

Daddysredhead -> RE: No Response is a Response? (10/12/2008 9:55:52 PM)

Actually, my family had a pet rat before I was born named Herman.  Turned out he was a girl.  [8|]   Poor rat.

(see the links I posted... there may be a test tomorrow... I'm off to bed now)

Huggles, all.  [;)]

What type of garnish do we serve with roasted rat?

MadAxeman -> RE: No Response is a Response? (10/12/2008 10:09:11 PM)

Black pepper, I also like it on strawberries, try it.

cravesdom -> RE: No Response is a Response? (10/13/2008 1:09:14 AM)

I don't think it is necessarily rude not to respond and there was a time when I first signed up with CM that I couldn't physically respond to every single email I got. I do think if the email is polite and some thought and time obviously went into it, it is not too hard to write back a simple "thank you but no thank you" response.

Was the "both" meant to pull the independent vote out of the equation?[:D]

Well, no, I thought it fairer to allow for the fact I may have worded the poll based on my bias. I also think it is a valid position: that the Internet is an inherently rude place. I voted "Both" so I can view the results without skewing them.

Edit: Apparently, I can remove options, so if you think it's clouding the issue, I'll delete "Both."

Honestly I think it may have being that so many have taken both..if the only options were one or the other what might it look like..then again "both" is a choice..still would've been interesting to see.

HandSolo -> RE: No Response is a Response? (10/13/2008 8:00:02 AM)

You can have all of the "Both" votes, it'd be 2:3 in favor of "Accepted Etiquette." I think we both know that would not be the result of a two-way poll. Even a 50/50 split of the waffle vote would be a landslide, approximately the 3:1 that I observe on any thread on the topic.

Edit: I have an idea. Stay tuned.

*thinks HandSolo fried his brain whilst coming up with another idea*  [:o]  *oh no!*

dcnovice -> RE: No Response is a Response? (10/13/2008 1:44:34 PM)

I voted both.

In many cases, I'm told, intro e-mails are one-liners or form letters. I see those as the CM equivalent of spam and think one can delete them without qualm. I've done so myself.

On the other hand, I'd lean toward answering (even with a "No thanks") a note that was clearly written for me and which showed evidence of having read my profile.

I fried long ago. The Cunning Plan is in action, but I forgot one important detail, which I'll reveal once TCP matures.
