Status: offline 		Oh lord, I think the whole projecting the voice thing need not have any practice.  My dad was a drill sargeant in the Army in WWII, and I think I get my booming projection from the diaphram genetically.  One day, he heard me shouting at the Things in the neighborhood and said that my volume and tone reminded him of a bellowing English fish wife. 

No one appreciates my talents.

does Big D stay stuff and your know you can play or be bratty or tease a bit but then he says something and in that tone of voice you KNOW that doing anything but exactly what he just said would be a baddddddddd choice? thats *The Voice* its in the manual

Status: offline 		Oh I know the "voice"...  it's standard equipment once you have kids.  It also helps if you do any teaching of high school kids for any length of time.  It's the one that says, "I wouldn't go there if I were you... trust me."  I find that, used hand in hand with the "look" - highly effective.

He's used the voice on me maybe 3 or 4 times in five years.  The last time He did, I was feeling equally as "RARRR"  and it took everything in me not to "go there."  He looked at me and said, "What?"  (with the look) and all I could do was give the look back.  I figured opening my mouth and letting out my redheaded demon wasn't going to be good for either of us, or the relationship.   Later, in a sweet exchange, all Scarlet and mushy-like, I said, "Daddy, remember how irritated you were at me earlier?...  I was pissed, too."  He said, "Don't hold back, if you're pissed next time, be pissed, don't bite your tongue."  I looked at Him all sweet and said, "Now, Daddy, I don't think either of us wants me to go there, do we?  It'd just be ugly and the fallout wouldn't be worth it."  He laughed and gave me a kiss on the head.

Status: offline 		The majority of my contact with Daddy is over the phone so he can't see "The Look" (or the steam coming from my ears) but he knows I'm on the edge of "going there" by what he doesn't hear ................ and that's when he pulls out "The Voice"
