no but i think there are many that do not believe it is a real feeling or belief that it exist. i feel most will blame this on ignorance nd the uneducated as your OP stated. to alot of intelligent and educated people, mixed race people, like me are a blemish on society.

Bestbaby do you believe a formal education or for that matter a high IQ means a person can't be ignorant in their racial views?

Bestbaby is correct. Harry Truman was against miscegination(sp?). and he said so in public. Thats how I learned the word; reading what Truman said.

what does THAT have to do with governance and representation? nothing. If he doesnt get along with some groups, I guess that is his perogative. IMO- Obamas race is an asset, not a liabilty. I understand some cultures can be fearful of others' but I do think that in this case, it is misplaced.

Not necessarily. High IQ well educated people are more adept at disguising what they really feel

quote: ORIGINAL: slvemike4u Bestbaby do you believe a formal education or for that matter a high IQ means a person can't be ignorant in their racial views? i do not find that all people that are educated or have high IQ's to be ignorant in their racial beliefs. that is there belief, no matter how misguided. i would not label them as a biggot or racist. they just have their belief. i experience this everyday. i have friends & colleagues that are very very conservative when it comes to racial boundaries etc. but i do not label them as ignorant. it is there belief no matter how wrong it is. most of them can tell you why they believe that way and to me their reasons do not sound ignorant. most keep that belief to themselves unless they are asked about it.
