Status: offline 		I found this amusing, the largest Irish bookmaker has called the U.S. Presidential race and paid off on Obama already.  Anyone here have bets on the outcome?  Are you betting in dollars or euros?

"Paddy Power PLC says it is so sure Barack Obama will win the U.S. presidential election next month that it paid off Thursday on all bets it had taken backing the Democratic candidate. It said it shelled out more than euro1 million, about $1.35 million.

"We declare this race well and truly over and congratulate all those who backed Obama — your winnings await you," the company said in a statement."

They're definitely right, the race is over and Obama has won. No need for you Obama people to even go out and vote, it's in the bag - guaranteed.

Paddy Powers is always paying out in advance on different events. The resulting publicity always covers the cost of the bet. More often than not he calls an event correctly.

As did I, yesterday actually. I was waiting to see the last debate to see if McCain could change my opinion of him. He only sank the hook deeper for Obama.  John just hasn't got what it takes to get my vote.

Most people I know have voted early.

Edited to add..............Almost forgot to answer the question. Yes, I did a bet months ago, my payout will be in 18K. It's already been purchased I believe.
