Just out of curiosity, I would like to know if there were any type of clothing that made you feel especially dom or sub. I dont mean leather thongs or the like, I mean like something that you can wear to the supermarket and you feel like you exude that inner radience. Whenever I put on a flowy lacy skirt that falls just below the knee I feel dainty and demure and almost fall face first into subspace. I hope spring gets here soon! Anyone else experience something similar?

That's often what collars are used for.

I attach a lot of emotion to most of my clothes. Uusally it is based on my experiences I have related to them. I have a burgundy velvet dress that I have worn a rope corset in and had a few other great scenes in and that tends to evoke soft submissive feelings.

I also have a velvet corset that I have had a few hot dates as a top in.

So for me it depends on what I've done with the clothing.

UNDERWEAR
Easily what comes to mind are my favorites of lace and quality, structured boning, offering balance and substance to mysubself. Also, an adornment of jewelry, a gift from a loving domguy goes a long way to refresh memories and mellow my mood.

I like wearing my belt, heavy duty black dress shoes, and my black leather trench coat. There's an old saying "Clothes make the man" When I look good, I feel good. I had a doctor tell me once "It's okay to feel like shit but it's not okay to look it." Clothes don't make me feel dominant but they do allow me to express myself and who I am.

Clothes????

Nope. Clothes don't make me _feel_ dominant, I could give a rat's rear end about what I'm wearing. I either wear what's required (for work) or whatever's clean and fits my mood (the rest of the time).

I will sometimes dress more "fetishy" for Scene events, you know, do the jeans, black leather boots, black leather belt, black leather vest with club and run pins on it.... But that doesn't make me _feel_ more dominant, it just makes me _look_ more like the stereotype for the part.

I am almost always "flagging" Top though... my keys are always hanging off my belt on the left side, and my pierced earring is in the left ear.

YIK,
- Geoff

For me it's when I wear sleek black pants and blouse or an outfit that is slightly too lowcut for daytime wear (for my usual level of comfort and conservatism).
If I go out at night, I usually wear something I feel dom in (dark, sexy). M

I'm just me no matter what I'm wearing as I create all the atmosphere or dynamic needed through my manner and eyes etc. And she only needs whatever I want at any given time but subs certainly pick up on my preferences quickly if I haven't stipulated what she's to wear....

And I had to quote you post again as I thought it absolutely charming....

Not clothing, but does dark eye brow pencil count? You know when I've arched just a bit too much, I scare myself.

Interestingly enough, the clothing that most reminds me of my responsibilities and of both my dedication to and the beauty of managing other lives are the robes that I've worn during my spiritual progress -- I have several robes that were obtained or made for intiatory experiences, and wearing those bring out my nature.

Of late, I've acquired a new set of clothing that reminds me of my capacity to continue to grow and learn. I've had MS for some time now, and have some limits to my mobility -- so I began a yoga course through a local ashram. In this form of yoga, I am a complete beginner --not to mention having a lot to do to manage the strengths and weaknesses inherent in my body -- so when I put on my gi (yes, I know that this is what a karate uniform is called -- but it is also what the uniform is called in the ashram I am in), I place myself, mentally, in the role of student again, willingly learning what I need to progress.

In my experience, clothing -can- make a difference in both how we feel and how we behave.

Primarily the same thing for me. I do own lots of black but I dress up for conventions and munches and the like -- generally in skirts or dresses so more femme in a way.

Thought I'll tell you, there's something mighty powerful about being dressed in teddy bear slippers and still getting my slave to knell down and kiss my feet. So sometimes I actually dress "undom" just to feel how truly dominant I can be just by my will and his.

Doesn't qualify as clothing...but my answer...my attitude.

Yes. Certain clothes do have an affect on my mindset. Thigh highs, high heels, short skirts. Sandals that show a lot of my feet, long skirts with fabric that caresses my legs... has to be a fabric that I enjoy, like silk, or rayon, or velvet when its cold.
When my clothes make me feel especially pretty, or feminine, or slutty and attractive, I feel more submissive. But which set of clothes really depends on my mood and so many other factors.

Clothes? I like to wear my Fishnet Tights under my clothes when out or at work. They make me feel as if a Mistress made me wear them and to show me she is in control of me, all day long...and nights too.

Now if you want to talk Toys too, my Cock Harness under this realy pute me in the Sub Mode.

Yes, of course. Dressing in my "put together" clothes (dress slacks or skirt and business tops and blazer) certainly puts me in the mood. I don't really "need it" though to get into the mindset, I'm pretty much always there.

What I've found though, is that when I'm not in a place or time where I can participate in my chosen dynamics, I tend to avoid dressing that way. When I wear more casual clothes (which I abhor) I tend to be able to hide from my need for the D/s strength that is inside of me. Building up my needs and desires without an outlet isn't healthy for me, so I find ways to avoid the buildup. Clothing is a part of that.
