I had read that my county (Arapahoe County in Colorado) was one of the most pro-McCain/Palin counties in the country.  I counted yard signs when out driving and found them to be 70% for McCain and 30% for Obama (I saw ten),

This isn't an exact way to determine support, but what the heck.

Please post your county/state and the percent of yard signs for each candidate.

Arapahoe County, CO 70% McCain, 30% Obama

Just out of curiosity---has anyone ever, in any election, been swayed even the slightest by seeing lawn signs?

when I was but a youth, my father commanded me to mow the lawn, at the very precipice of the corner sat a JFK (followed by an LBJ) and he voted also for IKE...lawn sign.......

Young and dumb and full of cum, I mowed it. (BTW that lawnmower finally died 5 years ago, my father was sad, but I owned if for a time, having pushed it back and forth, to and fro, and I am certain he was disappointed that it went in the junk, but it was hosed, and-----well never mind)

so, he stood loud and proud, and when his lawn sign was mulch (me just havin no other care than that)

Not only was I swayed; Tim---

I was fuckin' .............MOVED.

Okay, let me explain... it's not whether people are moved by them, but a very unscientific poll, assuming that the yard signs are representative of the neighborhood's affiliations as a whole.

I understood.

The above was my point.

In one county here in Northern VA, some Obama supporters pulled up the yard signs that said McCain and left nasty messages like "You racist M*F*er!" in their place.  Stupid idiots... one of the places they vandalized belonged to a black couple who support McCain.  Vandalism, in any case, is wrong.

Where I live, it seems to be pretty equal as far as the number of signs for each candidate.

Nope.  Yard signs clutter up the environment.   You get them by contributing to their campaign.
I want to dig up the McCain ones down here.
There are not many either way in this area.   There are more on the local races rather than national.
Go figure.
I would put an Obama one in my front yard, but my church would pull it up.

I live in a blue state very near a large University. The number of Obama signs compared to McCain is overwhelming .. as one would expect given my demographic.

My area of Jersey is easily 15:1  with McCain in the majority, and that's being kind because I actually haven't seen a single Obama sign, but I'm sure there's got to be at least one somewhere.
Once you get closer to the urban areas the ratio shifts.

100% of the signs in my county are for Obama.

I can be sure of this, since only an idiot like me would have put up any sort of sign for the US elections on the off chance of some ex-pat happening by to be influenced one way or another

LOL, I am sure you saw this too, Celeste.

There was some stupid fuck that got his eye punched out in a fight in a bar, and three weeks later he is blind because he got his other eye punched out in a fight at the SAME bar.

There was a guy, near the cities that called the cops, seems dogshit had been piling up in the bed of his truck for a week...had a McCain/Palin sticker on his truck some fuckin shitweasel didn't like it and that was his vote..........

BOTH, sen. McCain and sen. Obama did a roast in NY for disadvantaged children, and nobody put an eye out, and no politician was killed, and they helped to raise 4 million for them kids.

Of all the shit I don't like about celebrity and politic, I wanna keep that.

In my area of Cobb Couny, I'd say is abou 90/10 McInsane/Obama. My subdivision put Newt (who also happened to have lived in my SD) into Congress.  Overt racism here, too. They didn't want MARTA to come up here 'cause black folk would be riding up empty handed and riding home with TVs. Really. But the schools are the best in the state, and the property taxes are the lowest in the near-metro area, so they're doing something right.

No signs for either down my street.  There are a couple of "Yes on 8" signs.

I wouldn't dream of, nor tolerate, ripping them out or replacing them.  If the dog has the full 20 feet of slack in the leash to piss on them, though, I'm ok with that...  (fucking bigots)

I live in the most important swing state...Missouri. And in Missouri I live in a bastion of Republicans. This is the first election where the Obama signs equal the McCain signs. I figure if hardcore Republicans are putting Obama signs in their yards..there are a lot more Republicans that will be voting for Obama that will not put out signs.

I predict Missouri will go Democratic this election.

There are no yard signs at all in my 'hood.  And quite frankly, I like it that way :)

4 years ago (the last election) when I took my kids trick-or-treating, I made a mental note of the signs.  The ratio of Bush to Kerry signs seemed pretty even.  HOWEVER, the houses with Kerry signs were far more likely to be home and be generous with the goods for the young'ns.  Not sure what, if anything, that says about the Bush supporters.  I'll be sure to keep track (as possible) this year.

Now that, Mr. Muse, is one hell of a fine cheap shot.  See?  It's not so bad.

(pssst.  they give them away, and often deliver)
