They do. MM, if I'm not mistaken I believe it used to be that way until Reagan was shot, then it changed over to include candidates as well. I'd have to research it though. In any event, it includes sitting Senators as well so he'd be included in that no matter what.

Before MLK was shoot through the throat by a low-life coward,he endured a long litany of personal insults and threats on his life. They came from all quarters and sides,and there were many. Though there were men who were personally responsible for his death,there was one man who was perhaps the most responsible,IMO. J Edger Hoover,the head of the FBI would call Dr King," the most dangerous man in America" and other things,just as reckless.I believe it was done on purpose to inspire an attack an the man. Imagine 50 years ago,there`s the head of the most powerful law enforcement org.,telling folks that MLK was the most dangerous man in America..... What do you think that`s going to produce,other than tragedy? What McCain ,Palin and their campaign are doing now,is pretty much the same this as what Hoover did.Using inflammatory words and phrases that are way over the top and for dangerous, selfish political ends. It`s irresponcible and not good for the country."Country First",my ass. Shame on them and their supporters for these ugly,cowardly tactics.

Fox News continues to have Liz Trotter as a guest. Today she's up in arms about the New York Times piece on Cindy McCain .. actually, not so much the piece but rather how they got the information (which is already public knowledge so the NY Times is just dumb) which I won't go into here as it involves minors but I just don't understand this sort of outrage from a woman who called for the death of a Presidential candidate. [8\|]
