I agree with your "wait and watch" position.  I,however have found myself in "teaching" situations where if conditions are presented which allow for deviation from expectations; if someone is there to apply a "course correction" it takes a much smaller "course correction" than if the deviation from expectations is allowed to go unnoticed or unchecked.  I am speaking here of students, both human and animal, not subs.

I have strong feelings about this word "testing" that people do. "Testing", in my mind, is something you do with an adversary, not a partner. I might "test" my adversaries defenses, for instance. But with a partner, I ask him. My own opinion is that "testing" is what people do when they do not have the courage for direct and forthright communication. So no, at least in my book, you can keep your Domme card. Then again, my dom qualifications are highly in doubt so... *laughs*.
