Ignorant twaddle by right wing scum who think people can be fooled into believing their libertarian Ayn Rand inspired bullshit with cheesy animation and bad music.

Excellent: it confirms that officials cannot be asked to murder on our behalfs. Out with the death penalty NOW.

It's not the money I'm worried about. Money's nothing of any real importance: it's injustice that revolts me.

You do know that by a strict interpretation of Ayn Rand you can't imprison anyone don't you. Why aren't you out advocating for the destruction of all prisons and the end of all law enforcement?

Thoughts?  The first thought that went through my mind was that it'll no doubt stick in the craw of a lot of self proclaimed dominant types.  (And Ken's responce confirmed that at least some of 'em seem to have a problem with the concepts.)

I agree with every sentiment expressed in that particular video.  It's well put together, it's well thought out, and it's well presented.  It stresses personal responcibility without ever coming right out and calling it that.  It emphasises consent, both on a personal level and the larger level of a global community.

i do believe in law & order.  i believe in small government.  i am a federalist.

You seem to have drawn a very wrong opinion of why I didn't think highly of that video.

First I have actually read Ayn Rand and given some serious thought to her ideas. It is clear she is just as wrong and in precisely the same way as Marx was.

Second I dislike poor quality video and this was slow and poorly done with an atrocious soundtrack.

As to it being somehow related to my dominant nature, nothing could be further from the truth. I firmly believe everyone is equal and don't need pretentious libertarian twaddle to tell me that.

I agree that the music sucked beyond belief. Sounded like Philip Glass with too many violins.

Wow, some extreme reactions, while I do agree with the video, obviously nothing concerning man can ever be implemented in total ideal perfection, just like every other concept in the world never is implemented to perfection, that doesn't mean the premise is trash just because it can't be implemented to idealized standards.

Oh, and prisons are pretty fucking stupid, on ever conceivable level for all but the most corrupted of individuals, they simply don't work to make anyone better. I would eliminate them almost entirely and replace them with mostly psychological treatments. You can't fix anyone by locking them in a cage, and making 99% of their social contacts other criminals that is the the pinnacle of stupid.

Money is the number one tool of forcing injustice upon people. Everything about a society can be seen in the way it handles and prioritizes money. Thus to care about injustice is virtually equivalent and must be met with an equal interest in money.

Anyway, unless I'm reading your sentence in a manner it wasn't meant, I can't see a person effectively fighting injustice without the top focus being on money.

Money is meaningless when it comes to the cost of the death penalty. The cost of barbarism is irrelevant.

Speaking of the cost of barbarism...

Allowing people to defend themselves creates a situation where when some fool tries to mug or rape somebody, the cost of justice is 1oz of lead plus a plastic bag, and the cost of barbarism is infinite. Unless you have some different definition of "barbarism" in mind.

Just flirting.

Well, I thought you were also meaning injustice in a more general level as well, like those injustices that lead people into such situations that greatly enhance their odds to even be in that situation. As in everything else, and including the death part.

It's all money. Only the poor rob convenience stores or steal car stereos that eventually lead to violent confrontations.  Most street drug peddlers are poor or were poor before embracing illegal acts.

Anyway, I don't think the government should have the right to kill anymore either, I did even a couple years ago, but my distrust of government, and their repeated showings over the years, not to be capable of handling such power, leads me against it.

But even so I'd still say a life of desperate poverty and all that implies  is far worse than death, at least I'd select death first.
