camille - I clicked your profile and it is there - it's either a photograph or a video.  Yours at that time was a naked, shaved pussy - but it alters each time.  There is one of NVs too.[:'(]
 
Personally I think it sucks.  I know it is an ad and I know they have to get income somehow but that is just too much.  It's in the middle of a persons profile and it isn't always a cool image or even relevant to BDSM - it's just porn.  If it was below the profile, it would not bother me, but it spoils the viewing of the profiles and interferes with reading.

Now I see the word "advertisement"! I was looking at my dearest's profile recently and...well...I certainly got a giggle and she became even more awesome for a minute before I realized it was an ad.
It's labelled as an ad now, but...seriously?! Right in the goddamn middle of someone's profile?! Advertising has turning into total fucking bullshit! I think I have a pretty decent conneciton, but there's so much lag at IGN because of all these animated bullshit ads! And if you wanna watch a video at some places (like IGN), you have to sit through freakin' ads! You can't skip them and you have to wait for them to load (which is torture if you have a bad connection)! And fade-ins! Anyone ever have to deal with those 'fade-in" ads? Like, you're on a page, and then all of a sudden this ad just appears out of nowhere, and you have to click on "skip ad" to see what you were looking at? And now we have ads in the middle of people's profiles?! There are already ads off to the sides, where they damn well belong, but...seriously, what makes these jackasses think this sort of intrusive advertising is at all effective? Has anyone ever bought something because some stupid ad just got up in your face?
I can't believe we've gotten to the point where the kind of spam comments you can find on YouTube and the like are actually less annoying than legitimite advertising.

I just have one question. What about the ToS and picture rules?
  • Only pictures you took yourself
  • No extreme or vulgar pictures
  • No explicit genital nudity or hardcore bondage

Confusion aside, doesn't this *really* give out mixed messages?

I know what you mean, I just looked at the profile of a promising young lady and found myself confronted by some hideous soggy blonde screaming skull from waterbondage. It put me off my cornflakes.

This site has expenses just like anything or anyone else.  I put up with such things because I know the site needs revenue.  If we are all really serious about not wanting advertisements here, maybe we should all start pitching in with some dollars to support the site & keep it ad free.  Advertisers are wanting their dollars to go more & more to where they will be noticed.  Places that need that revenue are figuring out how to get the attention of the people who use their sites. 

I have not encountered this problem of clicking on a profile & finding an ad, but I don't doubt they are there.  Of course, when I browse, it is usually, someone's who's ad either intrigues me when I click home here, and it passes by my screen, or when someone posts something in the forum that draws me.  If a profile, or a photo appears to be too good to be true, chances are, it probably is.  That may be a good indication of something on here that isn't legit.  Don't forget, men are drawn visually.  Advertisers know this.

I'm all for that....I'm a big proponent of making money....just the placement of that particular ad....makes it appear as though it's related to the individual.

They must have moved it to another location.

It's all good...they're doing their best to get this site profitable...and frankly...from that side of things, where they put it makes as much sense as any other....all real estate is valuable...some more than others.

This one just appears to suggest things that may not be entirely accurate...and from that standpoint, I hope they reconsider.

If they don't...it's still the best damn site for this venue out there...paid for or otherwise.
