WHY!?

Are people in NC animals?   Is this about abortion?   Why the hatred?

This happened in Milwaukee 4 years ago. Democrats, one of them the son of congresswoman Gwen Moore 'D',slashed the tires of vans used to get folks to the polls on election day. Nothing much happened to them when caught.

Sad attempts at voter suppression but it isn't working.
“Sunday is for church not voting.” That made me laugh, especially since none of them shouting it were at church either.[:D]

bestbabync -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 7:21:16 AM)

just to put my 2 cents in....i live in NC.......some of my friends were in those lines to vote early on sunday.  there were people driving by screaming "Vote for Obama!"  my friends thought it odd.

oh, i forgot my friends, that voted early, did NOT vote for Obama[:D]

Pahunk, too many people take disagreements personally. Taking such things personally leads to fear. Fear leads to hatred based crimes. It is unfortunate.

On this, I agree with you 110%.

You can't go too far radical left or too far radical right withhout expecting a reaction of equal weight from the other side.  Most of us are basically in the middle "leaning" one way or another. This i unfortunate but a fact of life.

Notwithstanding the media declaration of victory, this election is not over, and both candidates for President know it!

Doubtful they are animals.  Race has been infused in the campaign by the candidates themselves.  Do we really think hate crimes are not going to happen when the stage has been set?

It's ironic if it is about abortion.

Anyway, I don't know and I don't care why they are doing it.  I just chaulk it up to more stupid Americans.

no kidding!
just like the cry for one of the candidates on the ticket being threatened with "Gang Rape"........or women saying things like "i hate her".    it has happened in both camps.
even though i did not support H.Clinton for her candidacy, i would never say "i hate her" because of her policy.

LaTigresse -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 8:44:20 AM)

best, I agree, but I also know, at least for myself......all too often we say we hate an individual when what we really hate is what they have said, what they proclaim to stand for etc..... It is a phrase that is too often put out there.

Personally, I don't hate anyone. Too strong of words for even me, to use.

Why am I not surprised by this?
Democrats seem to be very bitter people.
They're always "angry" at something it seems.
"You better vote for my candidate or else!"
Some of them are talking about the "riots" that will ensue if Abbadabba loses.
You either agree with them 100% or, "you're the enemy."
Very closed-minded people it would seem.

Im fine with heckling and holding signs. Knock yourself out. But to slit the tires is too far. I dont have the right to slash tires of a car that I dont own- and nor vice versa.

I hope they catch the guy who did it.  [and yes- same deal if you reverse the parties.]

ROFLMAO....Damm right Democrats are angry,as a matter of fact all Americans should be angry......
But Popeye you can't be serious with 'vote for my candidate or else"line"
It is the Republican party that keeps saying there is a "real America"....that reasoning leads us to the conclusion there is a "faux America" doesn't it?

A similar thing happened here in Ontario during our Federal election.  Voter intimidation, you gotta love it.

bitter and angry- it looks that way at times.

But after 8 years of Republican rule, including 2 wars, (is war bitter or mad?),  unprecedented bail outs,  what do you suggest for governance?

PaHunk, not as angry as they're going to be when McCain takes Calif, Mass, and New York due to the votes of Hillary Clinton voters who want to position her for a run in 2012!
They'll be fucking ~STEAMING!~ mad! lol
Maybe we'll have some riots then.

bestbabync -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 9:14:47 AM)

do you really believe our country will not be at war once Obama gets in office?  he will more than likely pull alot of our troops out of Iraq, but they will be fighting somewhere, which will cost us still.

bestbabync -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 9:17:57 AM)

[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m18.gif[/image]there is a possibility of unrest breaking out across the country no matter who wins this presidential election.
people are worried and mad.....the voter intimidation is just the beginning i am afraid.

Vendaval -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 11:39:25 AM)

Some people react with anger and hatred when they are afraid and lash out at any convenient target.  Most likely we will be seeing more of this during this election.  Emotions are running strong and the economic hardships are driving people over the edge.

Irishknight -> RE: 30 cars tires slashed, per NC voting, WHY? (10/21/2008 12:57:06 PM)

I remember last election seeing a bumper sticker on a car in Cedar Rapis that said, "Republicans should be labotomized."
I pointed it out to a friend of mine and noted the anger and hate that the dems were spewing.  He said that I was totally out of my mind.
I bet him that we could put bumper stickers on our cars that said the exact same thing except onewould be for dems and pubs.  We were going to see which car was vandalized first.  If it was the pubs, he had to pay for any repairs.  If it was dems, I did.  He backed out stating that he couldn't afford to pay to fix a car.  Why do that if they weren't any more full of hatred than the other side?
This tire slashing thing is nothing new.  It is a direct result of political parties using hatred of the other side to avoid the real issues.  Better to hate the other guy than to ever give him a chance to be heard.  Both sides do it and there should be mandatory jail time if one gets caught doing it.
Put them in with Bubba after spraying them with axe and let nature take its course.  Then they'll be serving hard time.

What's the liberal equivalent of Ann Coulter?
