So everyone shuts up when Mod 11 walks in. I am starting to like her more every day. People want to talk about booze and shit like that when nobody has addressed the real point. So with that I take a trainload of cranes and lift the engine, cars and caboose back onto the tracks. Fasten your seatbelts Ladies and Gentlemen.
Let's define a bully.
"Give me your lunch money or I'll kick your ass"
"Pay me rent (property tax) on the house you THOUGHT you bought or I will send soldiers to take your house from you" (all LEOs are soldiers by definition)
"We will decide how you will run your country and if you don't agree we will dessimate you from halfway across the planet"
That is bullying. Without the fear of possible attack, bullying is not possible.
Another stenchy piece of reality, NOBODY and I mean nodoby has been attacked on CM. This is a fucking message board, damn, what did you think it was ? It is on your screen. One person step up and tell me that some fist or gun or something pointed out their computer screen and threatened them. You must have one hell of a good monitor.
To the OP, grow a skin, some flesh and some muscle mentally . You have never been attacked on this board, it is against the rules. You might have had something in a mail, I don't know but out here the rules are quite strict. Many of us have had to learn to tone ourselves down so to speak just to retain our posting priveledges, and among those I am.
Words are taken differently by different people, and I have read part of this thread but not all of it. When people start discussing different fine wines I am out. So I did a partial jumpthrough, so what. Case in point :
It was perhaps a year or so ago that there was a thread that was about privacy. One poster in the thread wrote something to the effect that 'if you have nothing to hide, don't worry', and that sort of got me going. I mean I am not even scratching my balls right now but I consider privacy to be very important, and so to make this point I replied something like :
"Hows about I get some of my hacker friends to find out who and where you are and make public all your ......"
You get the picture. Well that is considered a threat. I didn't think so when I wrote it, but think about it, it is. I was not put on moderation or anything like that, I was threatened - to be kicked off here totally.
So that is one way things could be taken wrong. Others here do not know that even if I was in bed with Bill Gates I would not want to violate anyone's privacy, but the words are all the others can see. They don't know me, perhaps I might have the ability to completely destroy websites or whatever, how do others know ? Some people can, and believe me I will not try to attract their attention here. But those words were worse than using the N word it seems.
At any rate, considering just what is considered bullying or attacking here would be a good thing to clarify about now. Did you give up your lunch money ? And as far as an attack goes, if you have attained the age of eighteen years (you better) and can't take a few insults or whatever in the written word without whining about it, go back to the TV. You will be much more comfortable.
People on this board have come up with things that have made me quite uncomfortable, but that has spurred me on to think about things more, or in different ways. Welcome to the world, you take the bad with the good.
There is the door, but don't leave in a hurry, try to deal with it. Understand this, we can't yell, the only way is to use ALL CAPS AND THEN SOMEONE ALWAYS BITCHES ABOUT IT. So words are the tools.
Use them.
