ORIGINAL: suhlut well.. its not exactly true that a tampon will break the hymen. Awoman that is still a virgin..still has her monthly Menustration, and that is because there is a small hole in the center of the hymen that allows the blood to flow out. And so the theory is that, a female that is still a virgin, can STILL use tampons by being very careful, and using the slimest size they manufacture, to find that small hole in the middle of her hymen and place the tampon in there. i never had experience in it myself, because i didnt start wearing tampons, before i had already lost my virginity, BUT.. when my 20 year old... needed to wear something back when she was still in highschool, and had to swim on pool days, well i told her how to wear a tampon, while still being a virgin. She was able, as far as she told me, that she was able to keep her hymen intact that way..so it DOES work. Not sure about that, as all hymens are different, and I distinctively remember finding myself on the floor after the insertion - I fainted from shock... so the jury's still out there.
