Why is anyone questioning McCain's status as a war hero? It is pretty low to do so. For fucks sake the man was tortured while serving our country. Whether you like him or not, trying to take that away from him is just small.

Plain and simple the man is a war hero. Now, I am not making the case that the status of war hero is one that automatically means you are qualified to become president (look at Grant, for instance... big mistake!), but the idea of trying to question the value of his service to our country is ugly, in my opinion.

If you think you can do better, I hear they are pretty eager to sign people into the armed forces these days.

"Ace" McCain is not a war hero by any measure. He was a low grade pilot who should have never been given command of an aircraft. He spent only a few hours actually involved in combat and recieved about two dozen medals and decorations for doing so.
He was captured when he was shot down and was not tortured any more than any other "guest" at the Hanoi Hilton.
As for your suggestion that I "join up"...get a grip I am against this fiasco in the sand box but I did spend a couple of years in I corp eating c's and monkey meat while "ace" was sleeping on clean sheats and eating real food on "the boat".

I can't say for sure, but based on the OP, I would say it's a jealous response. He seems to be really angry about the fact that McCain has so much money while he is struggling to keep his cable on. Kinda sad when you think about it.

I sure as hell do not want McCain for president, however, I could care less how much he pays his help.

As for the point being made.....I don't expect that anyone living differently from me, is going to know what it is like to live my life.

I don't know what it is like to be mentally ill and homeless. I don't know what it is like to stand on a stage and sing for thousands of adoring fans. I don't know what it is like to grow up not knowing who my father was, in a ghetto, surrounded by drugs and violence. I do not know what it is like to grow up in an abusive home. I do not know what it is like to grow up and live with a silver spoon in my mouth, yet not know who I can trust to like me or just my money. I don't know what it is like to have to spend most of my life in a wheelchair. etc etc etc

However, I can open my mind and heart to be empathetic with people with vastly different backgrounds and lives....if I so choose. To base the judgement of a person's character on their finances, is shallow at best.
