Yea, I think there's some bad shit being 'invented' too, pahunkboy. I despised video games on sight, back in the day when men would crowd around a huge Pac-Man arcade machine. I love pinball and was pretty good at it once, but something essential is missing from a video game. I think it puts the user in a weird headspace and people are someday going to realise they've allowed their UMs to be injured by these devices. Then there's the new Wii (sp?) influx of devices that apparently allow the user to have the 'experience of playing an instrument'. I have no issue with 'air guitar', but simulateling the experience of playing an instrument without having to first master it? This seems sinster to me...where will we find another Jimi Hendrix in 30 years if young people are diverted from mastering instruments because they no longer 'have to'? I'm not entirely pleased by the advent of myspace, etc.. It seems UMs have no clue what it may mean to their future someday to have posted revealing photos of themselves, etc. on the 'net. I think these 'online communities' should have been somehow prevented from allowing anyone under 21 on, and should have refused to upload these photos, but for many UMs, the horse has long since left the barn. No, not everything on offer in the wild, wild world of new technology is met by me with open arms. candystripper
