In your profile, you describe your ideal slave as "18-35".  So somehow you don't find yourself "creepy" for potentially being interested in someone who is 19 years younger than you, but you *do* find it creepy that someone 17 years older than you might be interested?  Hmmm...

Considering that my fiance is seven years younger than I am and my girl is 16 years younger than I am...no, I don't find it creepy that I'm older than they are.  However, I wasn't the one to initiate contact with either of them.  They pursued me and I didn't make it easy.  Someone old enough to be my parent initiating contact with me...yeah, that weirds me out.  That's why I usually let the subs make first contact.  Then I don't feel pervy in the un-fun way.

I fnd it hard to believe that anyone still needs clarification of the Op.  I rather think all the *missing the point* allegedly still happening is just so much crapola..

I knew the Op would not reflect common perceptions/assumptions, but really, how badly do you need validation for every single assumption you make?  Is it really that much of a news flash that if you generalize about people, you won't be right 100% of the time?

Not a news flash. That's why I try not to generalize, or, when I do, I'm careful about it. The fact that you're speaking for a minority didn't help your OP.

maybe that's why we're taught NOT to generalize about other people? =p cripes.

Candystripper; How very one-sided of you.  I don't care what your intent is/was in starting this thread. I would like to point out that you are whining. I have older doms contacting me all the time; and many of them are actually older than my dad. I have a filter on so they go to bulk mail; then when I get around to it I go through my bulk folder. If it isn't directly sexual; or i need/want you; I usually respond kindly.  IF it is; it is not so hard to say; No thanks. I am not interested in someone your age.

It isn't just your age group getting emails from mine; that is what I want to make quite clear. It is also your age group; and older? contacting youngsters* such as my self.

Other than turning on a filter; Suck it up and move on.

I've gotten mail from younger guys, and I find it kind of flattering.  I only consider men who are at least in their late thirties, but find some of the younger guys to be pretty nice and very polite, just not what I'm looking for.

I never respond by saying "You're too young"....that to me sounds critical or like there is something wrong with them.  I just say "I prefer someone closer to my own age".  No need to get pissy with them.  I take it as a compliment when someone younger shows interest in me.

Dnyomar, there are plenty of people on CM who've hit the *60 mark* and some who've hit 70, 80 and 99.  I myself don't particularly covet a very, very long life, but as long as I am still here, I don't see why I would need to surrender my sexuality.

Believe me, plenty of people 60 and older are most delightfully attractive to loads of folks.

I have never been offended by the age of a person contacting me, not EVER.

I have always been very open to all ages as long as it is of legal age.

I think a huge part of it is just being open minded and open to new experiences. Over and over, I've read about cultural relevance being the primary reason or OMG, he/she is older than my parents or younger than my kids. Personally, I don't care about that stuff. I don't get the squick factor there. Others do, that's their issue.

I look at it this way, I don't need one person to fulfill all aspects of my life. I don't expect ANY other person to have all of the same interests and life experiences as I do. Hell, I wouldn't want to spend that much time with people that have, how boring that would be to me!! I enjoy learning and experiencing new things. I actually enjoy being around people younger and older than myself. It gives a fresh and more balanced outlook.

And no, I've never heard of a clue phone either. Sounds like something a 12yo girl might say. I tend to avoid that age group on the whole. They are too young to spank, or ball gag, legally.

I also had not heard of a clue phone before this thread.  I thought it was some new kind of game geared toward the Gen Y folks.

I just asked Thing 1 and his mixed group of friend-Things, and none of them have heard of a clue phone either.  Perhaps the person who came up with this little "saying" is the same one who gave candy the bad directions from Miami to Jacksonville.
