So has anyone else noticed that the mullet, long thought to be extinct, has actually shifted over to the lesbian community? Particularly the bull dyke variety of lesbian?

My mother has had the mullet, or a close variation of it, since as long as I could remember. And a majority of her various girlfriends have had the mullet, and 90% of the butch lesbians I have encountered have indeed proudly donned the mullet.

What I'm really wondering, is why exactly bull dykes seem to prefer the mullet?

Someone should ask a lesbian who has a mullet. I know gals who have short cuts but not mullets. Could be that it is a distinguishing cut and is worn to make a statement. Probably no more than that...but I'm just guessing.

That was where the mullet came from.

From there is went to Joe Dirt and rural parts of NJ,only to retreat back to it`s roots....

LOL. I've noticed about half the female cops around here have mullets. I also see the female mullet making appearances among many of the Harley owning women around here, along with the essential chain wallet.

I have no idea why. It is a hairstyle that requires very little maintenance, and you can get it done at the barber's rather than a stylist. So thrift and convenience maybe?

I agree, in spite of the unattractiveness, it appears to be low maintenance....the short layers in front keep the hair out of their eyes, but they still have the romanticism (or whatever) of long hair in the back. Other than that...beats me!
