We didn't have booths in Chicago. We haven't had booths in years. We have a little table thing that unfolds out of a briefcase. It has little shields on each side but no curtain.

Lol, I think most places use those things.  The lady was freakin and I'm not sure why.  I just tried to use humor to keep her from exploding.  It worked.

I am still not certain why curtains were the thing she was so focused on.  Wierd.....

No lines at all.  Used an electronic card system.  No problems at all.
Very pleased with the results!

I showed up around 8:40 this morning and had no wait at all. Walked right up, gave my name, got my card and filled in the bubbles, then off to the scanner I went (double-sided, very cool). One thing bugged me and maybe it's just me - it was hosted in a church. I wondered about the separation of church and state, and voting beside a table full of bibles.

But everyone there (maybe about 10 people or less) seemed happy to be there, eager to vote, and were friendly to one another. The volunteers who worked there said it was REALLY busy earlier in the morning, but had (obviously) slowed down.

Touch-screen voting. Two districts in one building. District "A" people were in and out in 30 minutes. District "B" people had to wait 3 to 4 hours. Guess which group I was in? [>:]

Half a day of work wasted, and every single person and initiative I voted for lost. Of course, in 2004 the same thing happened, and I was in line for 5 hours. I guess that's progress? [8|]

No lines at my precinct.  Of course that may have been because I arrived with exactly two minutes to spare and was the next to the last person allowed into the room [:)]

We have computerized ballots.
