So I am sitting here, watching anutie Gok and it sparked a question.
Now I like make up, don't get me wrong.  When Darcy and I work on photography - if the shoot calls for it, I will wear my glitter eye make up. I love glitter!!!!!!!!   .Fuckingfantastic.

But I do not wear foundation, concealer, blusher or heavy lippy.  I flash of gloss, regardless of whether it's a shoot or going down the high road is all I wear.  Moisturiser does always have sub protection factor and sun cream in the summer is never under 30.

I don't do the whole rip and strip.  I use natural products - oatmeal and natural scrubs.  I don't use products from the highstreet.

So my question is - do you covert your makeup - what would you not do without?  Do you floss?  Do you wear a mask?

For the dominants - do you like make up on your women or men?  Or do you prefere the natural look?

For the s-types - do you put it on for you - or because it's what you think you are expected to do?

Do you wear sunglasses?  Screen?  Do you use sunbeds?

Loss of fingers would suck!
Do you use screen or cover on your lips though as well?

...don't use sunblock, but will use lip balm when the temperature drops to the minus 20's or so. The cold sucks the moisture out of the air. Basically, i use these things not as beauty products but as necessary protection.

I pretty much use all natural products or close to it. My favorite line of cleansers is Burt's Bees, especially their facial scrub. Then mineral make up. Just powder, blush. And if I'm really feeling adventurous, mascara. And always some moisturizer of at least 20 spf for face and lips before applying make up. Never use sun beds, always wear sunglasses if outside.

eta: Yes, floss daily. Also apply body moisturizer on after every shower, again Burt's Bees, I love their body butter.

I put on moisturizer on my face after I shower, apply mascara & "lippy" but lightly, I cant' stand THICK "lippy" (Love that term)!!  I apply body lotion after each shower also. (2 showers a day, morning & evening sometimes 3, depending on the humidity)

I brush my teeth after each & every morsel of food passes thru this mouth & floss each evening.

I do not wear a mask (Most say my face is scary enough). I wear sunscreen only in the summer & only when I'm at the pool/or beach.

I wear sunglasses on the weekend but only because that's why I got my contacts. Driving an ambulance is alot safer w/o the sun blinding me because the visor is so long/hard to handle so I got my prescription for contacts. I wear glasses the rest of the week.

I do not use sunbeds & only receive a tan/or sunburn naturally in the summer months.

**Eta I wear lip balm all year round to keep my "whistle wet"**

I use MaryKay cleanser and moisterizer on my skin.  I don't do heavy complexion make-up, but sometimes use a dab of concealer under my eyes, and a very light foundation powder.

Other make-up I use pretty heavily.  Eyeshadow (usually a darker color and a highlighter color) heavy mascara, and a moderate amount of eyeliner.  A little bit of blush, and color on my lips (but no gloss or shine).  If I had to do without something, it would be my blush.

No, I don't use tanning beds, or do any sunning of any kind.  It messes up my tone then I need different make up colors, plus it causes pre-mature aging, so I just stay white.  And I only wear sunglasses when I'm driving and the sun is in my eyes.  Otherwise, no, I don't like to cover my eyes.

And yes, I floss.

I use it all. When younger I had a creamy complexion. Now it gets red, and blotchy and bumpy. Possibly Roseacea. It definately gets worse with stress. So I use foundation and concealer for those deep set eyes with dark circles. the rest I mostly keep minimum. a 5 minute face. I use eyebrow pencil, mascara and eyeliner plus blush and lipstick . if i had to chose one it would be lipstick. Put on lipstick and its like you have a whole face of makeup!

i own some make up but it's largely a mytery to me...

i moisturise the things that feel like they might otherwise crumble and fall off and soap the things that are dirty ('cept my mind, tend to let the dirty bits well alone there )

i'm not a slob, but the girly girly is beyond me (no offence, i don't look down on it, it's just not 'me')

I love sunglasses have loads of pairs and love to wear them.

I make my own moisturizer, have done for yonks. I loathe the chemicals found in most products.

I dont use sunscreen but I dont lay out and tan either, have not ever done so. Too hot and I itch just lying there.

I wear make up to work or for going out to something special and think it looks pretty on me. Foundation, eyeliner, mascara and homemade lip balm. If I wear make up out, the second I get home I am washing it off, I dont like to have on tight clothes or make up when I am at home. Otherwise I am about with no make up on, only my moisturizer and lip balm. Hats work well for not wanting to bother with my hair and usually that is a baseball cap although I have lots of hats and made quite a few of them myself. Sunglasses, hat and Adida rip-off pants, big shirt, boots or sneakers, and I am happy to go shop or run errands.

I wash my face with organic soap it smells yummy.

I floss once or twice a day.

I love, really love long baths where I steep myself in Epsom salts, (excellent way to absorb Magnesium while ridding the body of toxins) essential oil with a beeswax candle going, some nice music, or a hot shower with a good scrub brush to exfoliate my skin.

Once in a while, if I am off work I like to go several days without bathing. I still wash my face and take care of my teeth.

~Fast Reply~

Most days I go completely natural (after flossing and brushing of course ). I do LOVE my makeup though. I adore the contrast of a crimson lip with pale skin so, since I have pale skin, I've usually got  a lovely red lipstick in my purse in case I feel like applying it. I love concealer for hiding under-eye circles or blemishes.

When I go out, I do the full nine yards with foundation, powder, bit of blush, mascara, eye shadow... And god how I love my eye shadow. Sometimes I'll do a nice subdued shimmer for the daytime, when I'm not feeling lazy and going completely bare, but I'll pop one of those new and really intense blues for night time and play parties.

For me, it's like my art. Only I get to wear it.

I've worn makeup since I was in my mid teens. It is just second nature to me. If I leave the house to go anywhere something gets "done".

My foundation always has sunscreen. The eyes always get done. I don't like anything heavy and dramatic, but it must be done. I can do it in my sleep.

Before I go to bed and when I get up in the morning always cleans the face and teeth. What gets done to the face after cleaning and before makeup always depends on the time of year. But, I am fanatical about doing it. I am just as fanatical about eating to promote beautiful skin and drinking lots of water. Eat badly, don't drink lots of water and it shows in your face. I've got awsome skin and I want to keep it that way. Clear and wrinkle free.

I almost always wear sunglasses, have only used a sunbed twice in my life and lip balm also depends on the weather. If it is humid I don't need it. During the winter I go through pots of it.

I like makeup on women, IF it is well done. I don't care for heavy or goth type stuff, unless it is for a specific event. Even then, it better not be done badly.

My cousin was a model and so was a former lover......I learned to be pretty weird about my face and makeup early on.

I much prefer the natural look of skin and features, excessive use of  ''war paint '' I find a complete turnoff and when I see it, make up used to excess, I jokingly wonder how long it will be before all that plaster will dry out, crack and fall off.

Now the use of skin protectors, balm, moisturiser and sunglasses, with our polluted air and unnatural light, anyone that wears these things, I say good for them for taking care of themselves, female or male.

Note, by unnatural light I mean sunlight when we get it reflected off concrete and glass surfaces, car wind shields, glass faced buldings etc. The air we breathe, well it is full of all sorts of chemicals, some potentially damaging to skin. I am a firm believer in that if you can smell a chemical, it's there,in the air

I wear hats and stay covered up a good bit. Prefer not to use sun screen. In the warmer months I try to spend my lunch naked on the deck and read for an hour or so. I like being tan, believe sun is good for us when not over done, and the base protects me on the days I've no choice but to work or play uncovered in the hot sun.

Sunglasses are pretty close to mandatory for me. I have light blue eyes that are fairly light sensitive. I find some overcast days to be as bad as bright sunny days. And snow? The glasses I've worn for years are glacier glasses (they double very well as riding glasses). A thousand winters ago I went snow blind in a white out in Vermont. Scary, and somewhat painful, and lasted for 3 days. I'll endeavor to not repeat the experience.

I heat with wood, which is quite dry, so in the winter I tend to use some sort of body oil or lotion. I always seem to have a stock of Avon Skin so Soft left over from summer months so that is typically what I use. Better yet I stay hydrated and up my consumption of nuts, oils and fats. I figure moisturizers work best from the inside and I've been somewhat blessed with a metabolism that runs high.

As for partners and playmates, useage of products and make up is really up to them. Do it in amounts less than paste filler and I've no problem or issue.

UN,

Amber sunglasses. I swear by them. They work well in shade as well as full sun, and pick up "highlights" in foggy or "bright overcast" conditions.

i usually go au natural - no makeup, foundation or blush however i give myself a facial (mask, facial wash, and moisturizer) once a week. if i do wear makeup, it's because i want to pretty myself for me. i tend to go with a foundation and lipstick  ...nothing too heavy on my face.

in the summer - sunscreen and hat to protect myself from the hot Chicago sun. during the winter, my hands and face moisturized daily from the bitter cold.

I love my make up. Day time home (or to shops) its moisturiser and lip gloss
Day time (work)  its light coverage - powder, blush and eyeliner. Nights out - its the full works.

Most important though is a healthy lifestyle and diet. You can moisturise from the outside all you like. If your not getting enough vitamins, minerals and water from your diet or supplements, its a waste of time.

Face wash, moisturiser with sunscreen, and thats all.          my Sir told me when i moved in that he perfers the "au natural' look - and so do i. Don't wear any - no lippy, no eyeshadow, no mascara. Never have, never will.

We went to a vanilla Halloween party - and  - shock horror - i put on eyestuff!!!!     First time i have put on makeup in over a year.

I love hats - especially Akubra brand, and have prescription sunglasses. I think i am part mole - i squint in the sun, so they are a necessity for me.

and as a warning for the sweet young types among us - sunscreen every where!  you will appreciate the results when you hit 50-odd.
