If you use the search function on this message board, you'll find all kinds of posts about fake subs, fake doms, fake mistresses, fake profiles, fake pictures, fake females, fake guys fake fakes. Most of the posts seem to be started by new posters with the vanilla cone by their name who become frustrated with their search results and find their way over here to the message boards.
Yes, for whatever reason there are guys pretending to be women. Some of the profiles and pictures are fake. Sometimes, people misrepresent themseleves.
Here is one way to assure yourself that someone is real, and presenting themselves truthfully. Meet in person. Get to know them. Or, take them at their word until they prove otherwise. Or, you can continue to form unfounded assumptions that feed your frustration. Seems counterproductive to me.
As for your theory, you can believe with all your heart that every three legged hoohah online is really an alien pod person, and every two legged hooch is really an earth dwelling clownfish...it is as realistic a theory as claiming everyone on the internet is a guy pretending to be a woman.
