I'm pretty sure the Bill of Rights doesn't include that we can gorge ourselves on whatever we desire.  Or, for that matter, even remotely address the issue.

Yes, I guess he is.

I don't particularly agree with it, but it's a lot tamer than Bush's religious ramblings, so I guess it's a step up.

Would like to point out here that the reason the Republicans were in office was because not that long ago the Democrats messed up badly and the people got fed up with them.  Also Bush's win is still questionable to being legal.  The Dems took it away from the Republicans for the same reason. So the cycle goes on, like a bad tennis match with the same two players, from Franklin Pierce in 1853 till  today.  Before him were two Whig Presidents, since then it has only been Dem.or Rep.  And we thought we had more than a 2 party system. 
  I keep seeing everyone comment on what kind of President Obama will be.  But nobody mentions Biden.  What kind of President do you think he will be if it comes to that?   just curious  nejisty

P. S.  Obama being 1/2 black/1/2 white brings to mind someone dipping their toes in the pool.  We will vote for an African American for President but he is not completely African American.  amuses me

I get so sick of this claim. Bush's first term did take a legal battle to happen but it was deemed to be legal. Regardless his second term did not have the legal issues behind - that win is enough to make his presidenacy "legal".

Got to admit, after watching Obama the last couple of days, his speaches do come across as a little messianic, almost Hitlerish in the amateur dramatics but I suppose this could be a cultural thing.

The 4th. ammendment insures that we are not subject to "unlawful" searches or seizures.  It does not confer a specific right for you or anyone else to consume as much as you wish.
The 9th ammendment states that those right enumerated in the bill of rights are not exhaustive and does not preclude other rights that reside with the people...it does not give you or any one else the right to consume as much as you choose.
The tenth ammendment states that those rights not specifically given to the federal government are retained by the states and therefore the people.  It also does not give you or anyone else the right to consume as much as you wish.
The constitution does however give the federal government the right to make laws to govern the states and people of the U.S.  This right of the federal government does limit your right to consume as much as you choose.
Your posts seem to lack any real understanding of either the english language or the meaning of the constitution.  Your posts seem rather to be filled with a conscious vitriol against anything and everything that you perceive as not conforming to your view of how things should be.  You seem to have no problem personally accepting welfare when it suits you but refuse to see it being dispensed to anyone else not of your particular social/economic stature.

    Legality and Justice are sometimes two separate things. The Supreme Court is the final arbiter of what is legal, but they are not 100% objective 100% of the time. They follow current mores that years later have people scratching their heads. One specific example is the Dred Scott case ("Why yes, it is legal to take your slave from a slave state to a free state and keep him a slave").

Thank God the Bush reign is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost all African Americans are of mixed heritage. President elect Obama's mixed heritage is simply much more recent than many.

I give MCCAIN credit, for any Republican would have had a terrible time hoisting the banner high after the last 8 years of Bush,I voted Republican,I have no regreets in doing so, coming from a strong democrat family from the reconstruction.era,I did split my ticket to vote for Rockefeller for the senator and boy Governor Joe Manision...I am willing to turn the page and give Obama and his team a chance... edited to add...With lots of native American blood running hot Thur my veins, I suppose you could call me mixed as well..

So will Obama and friends soon make it "lawful" for government thugs to check our refrigerators and our thermostats regularly to ensure that we're not consuming more than Glorious Leader permits?

The Bill Of Rights doesn't grant us rights, it was supposed to limit the rights that the Glorious Leader can infringe upon.

It is interesting that you really believe that the Constitution actually gives Glorious Leader the right to monitor and control our "consumption".
