Thank god, its over.

So, do I need to wait until the morning to start bitching about him? I don't think I can wait until next year, I'm so tired of hating on bush.

CNN called Virginia for Obama. And it rhymes :-) .

And Colorado got called for him as well.  Looking VERY bleak for McCain.

lilmissdefiant -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:07:49 PM)

CNN has called it for OBAMA too.

I've never been exhilarated so much by an election ever. It's quite fantastic. YES!

Obama won handily and is to be congratulated. Personally I have not felt this bad since a very ugly September morning about seven years ago but I didn't like Reagan when he was elected and he surprised me. Maybe lightning will strike twice.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:11:14 PM)

The problem is that the party abandoned their philosophies many years ago. I would actually like to see the Republican party become non-existant and another party take it's place. It would be a good lesson to other parties in the future.

I want more than a victory. I want a fucking landslide!

And... I want the Armageddon of the Republican party. I want to see those bastards reduced to a tiny little pile of rubble [sm=evil.gif] . They can regroup later with better priorities and a nicer philosophy [8D] .

SingleRarity -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:11:56 PM)

Oh gosh!! It's so wonderful!!! Squeeeeee!!!!!!!!

Daddy's Ballerina, e...who is screaming her head off.

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:12:00 PM)

McCain just conceded!

Musicmystery -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:12:22 PM)

John McCain has just called Obama and conceded (reports NPR)

Isn't that discrepancy due to the fact that an enormous slice of the country hasn't been counted yet?

I’m not saying that it will turn out that way – in fact I am doubtful that it will – I’m just saying that it would be fascinating if it did.

So much to hope for now, and so much to work for too: this is a great moment for this country, and for the world. People will party all over the planet to celebrate this: it's what happens when people elect leaders who bring hope, and not fear and hate. It's a good day for everybody, even for those that are pissed off they lost :-) .

I wish there was a party that truly represented me – fiscally conservative but socially liberal.  Alas…

GreedyTop -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:18:27 PM)

Sorry. It's the excitement. I'll tie myself to my chair.

There.

Tie yourself to a chair?

Is that some kind of weird, kinky stuff?

Thinking of the pain and desperation of the Republican candidates, I feel my sadistic side is waking up.

I am watching McCain's  concession speech.  This is the McCain of 2000.   Someone I used to respect and can still see what he once was.  It's amazing how the grasp for power can twist a person.  If he had run his campaign as principled as his concession he might have been giving a victory speech now.

LaTigresse -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:27:52 PM)

Yes he is Greedy. Probably the best speech I've seen him give. I am very impressed.

Too bad some of his supporters at his speech aren't so gracious

lronitulstahp -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 8:28:39 PM)

What a speech!  THIS is the McCain i knew before......where has he been?????  i am starting to think he was under some form of mesmerism. (remember that thread[;)]???)

But his main mistake...i think, was the  Palin pick...[sm=wtf.gif]
