barelynangel -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 9:57:09 PM)

Actually kittinSol, i didn't have strong feelings either way.  Now i am just waiting to seeing what he will do, just as if McCain would have one, i would wait to see what he would do.  My statements are not negative ABOUT Obama, its about people making this about his being BLACK instead of what he has offered he can do as President.  My green face guy was just a reflection of what you did, i always forget about the smileys and i was like hoooo i am gonna do the green face guy back to her lol.  Its late, I am tired.

Geesh, so basically what everyone who doesn't like what i am saying is trying to imply that this whole race, a race that Obama tried VERY HARD to keep the color of his skin out of it, who tried very hard to explain to the people why he should be President that didn't include the color of his skin, and yet all i am hearing is suddenly its all about the color of his skin.    That's what i have issue with.  The Man worked to damn hard to have people now make it all about the color of his skin.  What none of you realize is i am not speaking BADLY of Obama.  I think if he can deliver what he promised it will be because of the MAN he is not the color of his skin.  The Man himself was the one who distanced himself from making his campaign about his race.

It's a landslide, a fucking landslide, it's an amazing victory. Stunning. It couldn't have been any  better :-) .

There is no getting around the fact that a black man being elected President of the United States is a historical moment.

So what was the point of linking to kittinsol’s profile?  I can perve her without anybody’s help.  Incidentally, I just tried to perve you but got Profile Not Found.  What’s up with that?  Just curious.

Anyone from Minnesota know what`s up with the Senate race?

I've never seen a race go back and forth so much as this one. The third party candidate is a huge factor in this and I think every last vote will have to be counted before we know who our Senator is.. it changes every few minutes.

Owner59 -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:06:07 PM)

Thank you, Celeste.

barelynangel -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:06:15 PM)

Good, lol and?    I hope in four years you feel the same way.   To me, tonight wasn't the battle, hell it wasn't even a call to arms.  Tonight, is the beginning of Obama putting his money where his mouth is.  Just as all Presidents before him the Election night was the same thing.

Do i see this as historical yes, but being elected doesn't mean a damn thing if he has no follow through (he likes basketball lol that's a good understanding for him).  I hope he does.  I hope he is able to bring a positive change.  Do i wish we had a better choice today, yes.  But we didn't, so i wasn't leaning heavily either way.  I just hope the people who did vote for him did so because of they believe he will do as he said and that is what they want, versus voting for him because of the color of his skin.

MarcB, i didn't link to her profile, i c&ped her name because i always type it wrong and decided to make it easy on myself by just copying and pasting.  And i have my profile turned off, which is why it says Profile not found.  I could care less if you get to see it or not lol.

Owner59 -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:07:45 PM)

Seems like his race was your only issue in your 1st post.

barelynangel -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:12:14 PM)

No. My first post was actually simply an amusement i had based on all the other comments, because of all the hype not that the Man won but it was because he was black and people seem to be forgetting he is white also, and seeing how fast and easy people turn on people in this country, i just figured if he screws up, people will remember he is white also and say that is why he screwed up.  Instead of saying ohh the 1st black president screwed up, it will be -- ohh but wait he's also white so its not that he is the 1st black president anymore.  But i guess sarcasm is hard to read on these boards.

But yeah,  your brilliant reply of ewww, showed me you got my sarcasm.

BitaTruble -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:15:13 PM)

The amount of melanin in his DNA is incidental. That said to believe it's not significant for a variety of historical reasons is a bit naive. In my opinion, we got to kill two birds with one stone .. put the best man into office with the tremendous side benefit of finally showing the world and ourselves that we are, at least, color-blind enough to realize there's a whole lotta shit more important than the color of a man's skin. We've been stupid in that area for a very long time .. tonight, we're a little less stupid. We have a long way to go. One day the best man for the job will be a woman .. someone who's gay, someone who's Pagen and so on and so forth. Each of those will also be significant in its own right until we get to always voting for the best person for the job and nothing else will matter.

How about the Bachmann race? I can't find any numbers newer than an hour ago.

BitaTruble -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:25:17 PM)

It looks like Bachmann is on the verge of victory although there are not yet calling it. She's been holding a 5 point lead for a couple of hours now.

Well!  That’s not very nice!  You tempt us in with a hot pic in your avatar and then don’t deliver the goods?  Is that really you in your avatar or just an idolized version of yourself?

Here, incidentally, is my idolized version of myself.

BitaTruble -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:54:11 PM)

Bachmann has been declared the winner. Frankin and Coleman still too close to call but Coleman has a slight edge.

Lordandmaster -> RE: THE PEOPLE HAS SPOKEN (11/4/2008 10:56:26 PM)

Ummmm...I guess I don't understand Minnesota, but how on earth could they vote for a fundamentalist like Bachmann?  Do they want to teach Creationism in schools?
