MadAxeman -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/6/2008 5:29:02 AM)

Pride is a sin after all.
I'm sinful to admit my errors.
Just virtuous enough to learn from them.
Humble enough to allow this said publicly.

good for you, it is a shame however that people on the thread arent recognising the initial post that sparked the response is wrong and instead are defending something else, it is sad that people cant be more even

I am proud that I am starting to get over my fear of having people disagree with me. Thats a pretty ace development for me :)

I am proud of you that you handled the disagreements with grace and dignity while disagreeing and getting your point across.

colouredin -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/6/2008 6:05:23 AM)

thankyou very much, that has actually made me feel really great :)

MadAxeman -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/6/2008 6:27:49 AM)

Apposite that you used the phrase 'more even'
I find that some people couldn't be more odd.

I am proud of my um.. and that he is doing his best..
I am proud of my girl for sticking with it even though it is painful for us to be apart.. and she can not feed herself too well.
I am proud of myself for toughing it out in my classes when I would really rather not.

I am proud of my daughter for growing into a fine, young, responsible Woman/Mother.
I am proud of my grandums just because they're TERRIFIC!
I am proud of my son-in-law for being an outstanding MAN/FATHER!
I am proud of my sister for her courage/strength during a nasty divorce/custody battle.
I am proud of me because by the end of Jan. I'll be a Certified PT for both Adults/Kids as well as a Medical Transcriptionist so hopefully I can work at home a good part of the time w/these extra careers!

hejira92 -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/6/2008 5:22:05 PM)

I am proud of son #1 for defying family tradition and following his dream. Oh, yeah, and for serving his country. [;)]

I am proud of son #2 for, so far, eluding me when I want nothing more than to kill him!!! (he will grow up...he will grow up....he will grow up. The infuriating teen's mother mantra.)

I am proud of daughter (one and only) for staying human and nice through middle school.

I am proud of Sir for persuing His dream, whether it comes through or not.

I am proud of my grandmother for, at 96, being too busy to see me last weekend.

I am proud of me for always being stronger than son #2 (even when giving in would be sooo much easier!), keeping my cool, and remembering that my goal as a parent is not for them to like me, but to raise responsible, productive members of society.

MadAxeman -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/6/2008 8:32:28 PM)

There you are being all cool again Lushy.
I'm not entirely comfortable with pride as a concept.

ArmoredOne -> RE: What I am proud of..... (11/7/2008 1:34:52 AM)

I am proud of the fact that I managed to survive the first 25 years of my life.

There are times when I wonder how in the hell I managed it, truth be told.  Putting the barrel of a shotgun on my forehead and daring the bastage on the trigger end to pull the trigger.

An alcohol addiction that waas truly staggering.  According to the doctor and the nurse assigned to me, one night it did kill me for just over a minute.

A narcotics addiction that I KNOW should have killed me.  Cocaine laced with straight rat poison.  My best friend died viciously in my arms.  I got a raging migraine for 2 days.

Hit by a car hard enough to throw me across a city street.

Even prouder of the crumbsnatchers, because I think they actually have the conviction to avoid repeating the moronic stupidity of my past.

Proudest of all of my wife, who has the same driving taste for alcohol that I do, and like me, she fights it every day.
