Personally I wrote in my pick for this year. To say that there are only 2 picks is frankly just incorrect and next time do a little research. You may find someone who speaks to you and what you believe. As much as I love Carlin I disagree with that bit to a point. If more people vote for 3rd party candidates it gives them more clout later and eventually may change the 2 party system everyone complains about but does nothing to change.

~FR~

George Carlin thought Obama rocked, Michael. For the first time since McGovern lost to Nixon he thought there was a real choice and that Obama was exactly what this country needed. He just couldn't bring himself to get involved in a process that he thought would end in tragedy for Obama. That's what you're not getting.

Well, he's another person that missed Obama's win.

Or he might still be watching somewhere.

since you don't like living here so much,  then move - no one's stopping you from leaving the peachy state of GA ...move to a country where a military coup happens every other day or the reigning regime has been power for over 30 - 40yrs.

my philosophy is you didn't vote you don't have the right to complain.

Am not going to wave to the mod. I get her attention enough thru my post.  Mike has the right to bitch as does anyone else living in this country. That is what makes this country so great.  I say if you don't like that right then move to another country.

You likely won't find anyone on these boards more critical of the pile of manure who got elected than me.

You also won't find me saying "democracy sucks" because said pile of manure got elected.  Come next election, I'll do my part to vote the pile of manure out of office, but until then I have a life to live.

Such is the nature of elections.  Regardless of the piles of manure we occasionally put in office, elections produce better results than guns and gulags.  I'll take the pile of manure over those any day.

Pile of manure? You dont even know the man.
Up until now I had respect for you.
Not any more.

Disrespect others and you disrespect yourself.

I did see that. I forgot. So I apologize.
However, I also consider the source. OP is hopeless and chooses misery
and anger every time.

Perhaps, but saying "suck it up Nancy" is just not my style.  Not nearly enough words for my taste.

Never vote, eh? I vote every year but I must admit, this year was harder than most because I disliked both "piles "but I chose the one that smelled better than the other one.

Don't vote...............give me a break.

Your fairmindedness and class show through, as always.

If one was to measure President elect Obama's acomplishments, character, ability to inspire and unite Americans vs your resume and using your colorful language to characterize him, I'm quite sure that by comparison to "the pile of manure", you'd be just a little shit, m'laird.

That enough words for your "taste "?

just because the OP equates him to a pile of manure doesnt instantly forgive everyone else using the turn of phrase.

in fact, I did read the OP, as well as all the posts in the thread. It's a habit of mine.

If you will re-read the OP, you will see that Michael uses the "piles of manure" analogy in a general sense, i.e., that in a two party system and, in his opinion, in the last few elections, at least, we have been presented with a lesser of two evils scenario.

In your post, m'laird, you use it specifically referring to the president-elect. Big difference.
